A useful Lidl store located as part of Cheetham Hill Retail Park, opposite Manchester Fort, the store is still fairly new in a large and modern unit, next to Sports Direct, with it being a retail park location, parking is available right outside, it is one of the few shops in the area open past 8 pm, closing at 10 pm during the week, but this is the bare minimum one would expect from a supermarket.
Lidl is of course one of the big german discounter chains in the groceries game that needs no introduction, there are some brands here which seem to be reasonably priced, but they seem to be set on promoting their own brand of cheaper goods in most areas.
The store is well laid out and fairly modern/presentable compared to other locations in the Lidl chain, of course, there is the bakery right at the front and dairy sections right at the back of the store, to make you go through the entire store hoping you'd spend more.
The checkout area is well managed and includes a range of manned and self-service tills, you do have to go through the checkout area which can be difficult at peak times, regardless of whether you wish to buy anything, due to the layout of the store consisting of security gates, I can understand why they'd be in place but I find this a frustrating obstactle.
You're not going to be able to do a full weekly shop here, but they stock a decent range of essentials in a fairly presentable store, above average for Lidl for sure, as you'd expect from a new build and newly opened supermarket. 4* read more
