They have all the chilean bread types you'd expect (hallulla, marraqueta, coliza...etc.) The pastries are amazing here, my favorites being the erizo and the palmera con chocolate. They serve coffee and sell gelato. They are open sundays which is almost impossible to find in Chile!

Had to stop in for a second time to get the Easter special, un nido, an adorable chocolate egg in a nest. It was absolutely delicious with caramel, peanut, chocolate and a touch of banana. Inside was tasty chocolate pillows. This was the perfect adult chocolate Easter egg for the holiday. The macaroons are also quite delicious particularly the chocolate hazelnut. Another popular dessert is the montebello, a crispy cream puff filled with pistachio cream and a touch of raspberry jelly. You really can't go wrong with any of their desserts. Definitely stop in for a delectable treat.

They are baked (not deep-fried) and generous, both in size and content. They were offering 5 different fillings the day we were there, we got one of each, and they were all scrumptious. There are some fancy-schmancy restaurants in Valpo, but for my money, this one tops 'em all.

After spending the day at Lapostolle, we wanted to squeeze in a second winery and decided to try our luck and just show up at Viu Manent. It was just past 4:30 pm and we asked if we could do a tasting and were told that there were no more tastings at that hour, but to hold on a second and they would double check. We perused the gift shop for a few minutes before they invited us to the back bar for a private tasting session. I really appreciated them accommodating us and not being such sticklers about our lack of reservation like some places in Napa can be. Being just the two of us, it was a very personal tasting, and the wines and their history were explained to us very fully. I just regret that I did not love any of them. When asked to choose my favorite and describe it in one word, I had a difficult time as I did not have a clear favorite. It may just be personal preference as I know that their wine is very popular. The grounds are lovely and they offer cool things like horse drawn carriage tours and wine pairing lunches for those that have more time. Four stars for the great service and lovely property.
