Now I don't like going around giving 1 star ratings. Typically Libs Grill kills it everytime, but this time.... I wasn't really hungry so I ordered a simple chicken tenders and fries. These had to be the hardest, toughest, over-fried chicken tenders I have ever had. The chicken had no seasoning whatsoever it was just sooooo bland that I just threw them away. I hope management reads this and makes adjustments to fix this. I really like this place and don't want to have to give it any more poor ratings. read more

My parents and I were looking for a quick bite to eat after a visit to Towson, and we were in the mood for seafood. I checked my handy dandy Yelp app and this place popped right up! It's located in a fancy shopping center and you normally would't notice it because it blends right into all the shops. When we walked in, I was amazed at the set-up and thought the theme was perfect for the type of restaurant. It has a cool modern feel, while also being intimate and cozy. As for the food...it was phenomenal! We got a bunch of different appetizers and a flatbread so we could try a little of everything. I am a huge fish taco fan and these are some of the best I've had. The batter is fried to a crisp, without being too oily at all and the crema seasoning on top was perfect. I tried my mom's crab cake balls, which were delicious as well! As amazing as the appetizers were, I would come back just for the seafood flatbread alone. Super rich and creamy, with chunks of crab and shrimp went perfect with the appetizers. The crab dip was baked on top with cheese and old bay, giving it a salty twist- my favorite! I keep thinking about this meal and will be back for the flatbread often. read more

4.5/5 I've been here a few times, and it's probably one of the best restaurants in the area. So far, I've tried the Pretzel & Beer Cheese, Short Rib Poutine, Roseda Farm Burger, Chicken Sandwich, and Pan Roasted Chicken. They were all great and reasonably priced too, but I think the Short Rib Poutine was a bit bland. The Pan Roasted Chicken also came with a ton of mushrooms, which can be good or bad depending if you like mushrooms. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, so it's a good spot for a date night. They also have brunch on the weekends, which I have never had here, but I'm sure is great. It can get really busy, especially on weekends, so be sure to make a reservation to avoid the long wait times. read more

I had a great first impression of LIB's Grill. I made reservations for 3, when I arrived I was immediately seated and greeted by the host. We had Amanda who was our waitress. She was really nice and always checked up on us. We also had the operations manager (James I believe) come up to us to introduce himself. He also noticed that this was our first time here, and made sure we were taken care of. We ordered the honeygo ribeye, roseda farm burger, smoked red pepper spaghetti, and a side of truffle fries. Everything we ordered was solid. I sampled everyone's food :) Asian family style :) My dad got the steak which was cooked to the right temperature (medium rare), and it was really tender. It came with potatoes, tomatoes, and spinach which were also cooked perfectly and tasted great. My sister got the spaghetti which was vegan, but my dad shared his steak with her. She wanted to try something new and it was surprisingly good. The only thing I didn't really taste was the smoke flavor on the spaghetti as the name suggested. The cauliflower purée really help bring out out the flavors in the spaghetti though. Lastly I had the burger, nothing special, cooked to the right temperature, (medium rare), it was juicy. The bun was nicely toasted. It also came with fries. Customer service was amazing. Everyone was really nice and friendly. Since they noticed it was our first time there, they gave us complimentary desert, chocolate cake espresso, which was nice and moist topped with whipped cream. The staff were all really nice. But the food (taste) was not good and we ordered several dishes. Great presentation but taste was not good. The best comparison I could give it is like it's going to whole food where the salad-food bar at whole foods looks great but then you taste it and you're like eh this is all show for the eyes does nothing for the taste buds. My coworker recommended that I give this restaurant a try, so I decided to enjoy a solo dinner here the other night. When I walked in, I was greeted by the hostess who gave me the option to sit at the bar, which is what I chose to do. The bartender greeted me almost immediately as well. Two for two! I ordered the crab cake sandwich with fries and Brussels Sprouts as an additional side. OMD (Oh My Deliciousness)... the Brussels Sprouts are amazing! The flavors are out of this world! The only thing I would change is less sauce in the bowl because over time, the Brussels Sprouts became pretty soggy. Also, a few of them were slightly overcooked, which made the texture kind of mushy. Despite that, I would recommend them, and I would order them again. The crab cake sandwich on the other hand left much to be desired. It is a smaller sized crab cake. Be mindful that it isn't a jumbo lump crab cake. I hadn't realized that it wasn't jumbo lump, so I was a little surprised when I took a bite. After looking back at the menu though, I read that it's just listed as a crab cake, so I got what I ordered. I appreciate the honesty on the menu. As for the taste, there were bursts of the crab/old bay flavor I want in a crab cake, but it wasn't consistent throughout the crab cake. Overall, it was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. As for the service, the bartender seemed to be pretty busy, so there was a lot of time between seeing her and waiting for her to return. But again, it was pretty busy in the bar area for a Wednesday night. In all, I would be okay to return here if friends invited me back, but on my own, I think there are other places with jumbo lump crab cakes (my preference) that I'd rather return to. read more

Visited Lib's Grill for Sunday Brunch on 11/13/22. Sat at the bar while we waited for our table. Very friendly bar staff and a great cocktail menu. Since it was our first visit to Lib's we asked the bar staff for a few recommendations, we knew it was going to be good when they narrowed the selections to about 10 items. At the bar, I had a bloody mary and my wife had an old bay dirty Martini, both delicious. When our table was ready and our other guests arrived we we seated and offered water. Our server Nicole B was pleasant and friendly. Ordered mimosa, Asian mule and an LG brew. Apps were deviled eggs, candied bacon, tater tots and a dozen oysters. All were delicious with a generous piece of lump crab on each deviled egg. Entrees included hangover burger, lobster roll, and sinking crab cakes. We also had a side of truffle fries. The food was fantastic. Great food, great service and great atmosphere, what more could you ask for! Can't wait to be back in Maryland to visit this place again. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The online reviews were great and the atmosphere felt so welcoming. The hostess was pleasant. The manager spoke to us at the door, which was a nice touch. Everything went smooth until we ordered our food. Because I'm allergic to shellfish I ALWAYS advise my servers of the allergy. This particular server took me through each item on the menu that didn't cross-contaminate with shellfish. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders and roasted chicken. Ten minutes into eating our appetizer, my server runs out of the kitchen to tell me she made a mistake. My entrée was cooked with the shellfish. Wth! How does that even happen? How can a restaurant be so careless with such a deadly allergy? I'd avoid this place like the plague unless you have zero food restrictions. They're going to end up killing somebody. Update to owner - Not sure what mushrooms and pork have to do with anything since I have a shellfish allergy, but your waitress was definitely told in advance. Your statement about her not knowing is incorrect and speaks volumes in terms of accountability. Whether or not she told your kitchen staff before or after the appetizer was given to me is out of my hands. She was told in advance. I did all I could do. In term of compensation, all you did was remove the buffalo tenders from my bill, which is what you would've had to do anyway since they were removed from my table. I paid for everything else on my bill in its entirety. I believe you have me confused. Nonetheless, I personally will not be returning and neither will my family. I've been meaning to make it to Lib's Grill for 3 years now, and last Wednesday I finally made true on that promise. I called ahead to make a reservation for 1:30pm on Wednesday December 18th following my husband's graduation ceremony. I wanted to ensure that we would have a reserved space for the special occasion, even though it would just be the two of us celebrating. I was told that they would do something special to honor the graduate. We arrived at around 1:20pm and we were seated almost immediately, though the host did seem a bit confused about where to seat us. He finally settled on a small two seater table against the back wall, and we had no objections. About five minutes after being seated and before we had even placed our drink orders we were asked if we could be "re-situated". I took this to mean that they were attempting to accommodate a larger party, we obliged, though to be honest, it felt more like we were being told to move, than being asked, as the waitress kind of picked up the utensils and began to move them before we had a chance to object. It took about 15 minutes at our new table before the general manager came by, and I assumed that she wanted to know how our service was, but to my surprise, she requested that we move tables yet again. She apologized once I informed her that we had been asked to move twice and hadn't even received our food yet. My husband happened to be in the restroom, so I opted for a booth where he would be able to see me when he attempted to return to our last table location. I am happy to report that that was the end of musical chairs for us. We ordered the crab dip and soft baked pretzels as our appetizer. We also each ordered the short rib rigatoni with burrata. The crab dip was overly salty, but the short rib rigatoni was phenomenal and each portion was enough to feed four people. Our celebration was soured by this, because it made us feel less important than the restaurant's other patrons. The general manager comped our appetizer and provided complimentary cookies, but to be honest, I don't feel that it made up for the poor service/accommodation displayed, especially when considering that I had made a reservation well in advance. My rating is for the service, I understand that things happen, but I have never experienced being asked to move twice at any restaurant regardless of scale. If I had to rate the food alone, I would give it a solid four stars. read more

My friends and I went to Lib's Grill last night to celebrate my last weekend before getting married and we had such a special time there! First things first: their food was amazing! Making decisions off that menu was quite the task. We started with the short rib poutine and the street corn dip to share. Both delicious. For dinner, I got the filet of beef. It was cooked perfectly med rare, and the side of bleu cheese au gratin was every bit of heaven I thought it would be, if not more. Everyone else's food looked fantastic, all the girls raved about it and our cocktails were fun and fantastic! Most importantly though: the service was OUTSTANDING!! Funny thing happened while we were there: one of their meals is served with this syringe of beer cheese to squirt on to your burger. The gentleman behind us ordered said dish and had a bit of an accident: beer cheese squirted EVERYWHERE!!! It was in my hair, my sisters hair, across of table all over my friends face. We couldn't stop laughing at the unfortunate situation. The manager came over very quickly with a clean rag and cleaned our purses for us, brought us a tide to go pen for any stains AND a round of shots to lighten the mood. I did love the doughnut holes instead of bread at brunch--cute touch! I will say that it is the space that puts me off coming when it is not restaurant week. It is very "pub" bordering on "sports bar" to me and the TVs in the slightly cordoned off bar area are visible from almost all corners of the restaurant. Not the vibe I want when spending $25-30 on an entree on date night. If it was a little cozier and more "bistro" in feel, I'd make this a regular entry into our dining rotation. read more

Went here for Sunday Brunch, and at 1 it was busy but not overly crowded. We sat in the bar, and there are several TVs for those who were there to watch football. This was the second time coming here, and both the Brunch and Dinner menus offer items I would come back to try- like the Heath Bar Pancakes! For brunch, the chicken biscuit is huge and delicious, but they don't give very much sausage gravy in comparison the the massive size of the chicken biscuit. Regardless, I'd definitely come back for this dish. We also ordered the Mexican Scramble, the Croque Madame, and the Baltimore Club, a pancake, the candied bacon, and the tator-tot casserole-- all were good, but the chicken biscuit was by far the best. We didn't order drinks, but everyone else in the bar was sipping on the $15 bottomless mimosas and crushes. They also offer build-your-own bloody mary's, and have an extensive list of freshly shucked oysters. The service was attentive, and the wait for the food was reasonable. The crab cake sandwich was good, not the best I've had but certainly not the worst. The location was one of these ersatz "old towne" developments, which I dislike, wasn't expecting, and may have affected my general feeling about the place, but it just didn't give me the feeling that I'd stop by again if I were ever in the area.
