What an awesome quirky little shop. I came here looking for some vinyl records for my brother and…read morefound a helpful shopkeeper as well as helpful fellow shoppers. I felt very welcome and like I had walked into a bit of a treasure trove. Not just vinyl records, but all kinds of collectibles in movies, music, everything. This place is the perfect pairing of total nerd alert and hipster not too cool for school. I only wished I could have spent more time digging through all the treasures. The next time I find myself in Quebec, I am so making a point of stopping in here for a visit. Word to the wise, the name of the shop isn't super visible, so trust your gps and your instincts. You'll know you're there when you see books and albums on display at the stoop. Definitely make time to visit this fun shop!

I'm always on the hunt for records wherever I travel. Musique Chez Sonny was the best store I found…read morein QC. I was surprised that the prices were fairly high. Aside from bargain bin stuff the cheapest LP was $10 (tax included) with the more expensive ones going up in ten dollar increments. While I did find a few albums I'd never seen used before I didn't pull the trigger because I knew they weren't so rare I'd never see them again. I will say the vinyl I removed from the sleeves were in good condition.

The owner was also attentive and kind. Next time I am in Quebec, I will def come back for more shopping.

Charming, quaint store. Cool, friendly owner…read more Me and my wife were coming off a St. Roch food tour when the used records on the outside steps of this store caught my eye. The owner was chilling outside as well and gave me a friendly 'bonjour!' before she headed in to wait on customers inside. After I went through the records I entered the store to be welcomed by an ecclectic mix of vintage pop culture goodies. From 50s jukeboxes to 60s kids toys to 70s playboys - eye candy for the quirky and art-minded. And, of course, there were more records inside which were a good mix of rock, pop, jazz, and soundtracks. Prices were pretty reasonable compared to the inflated prices I've seen since the vinyl boom. The owner was very accommodating, offering to play anything we wanted to hear. We shared a brief conversation about our love of vinyl and then completed the purchase of 2 lps - "When Harry Met Sally" soundtrack and New Kids on the Block "Hangin' Tough" (don't judge!). Definitely would come back and recommend to others visiting Quebec City/St. Roch area.

Derrière le contoir se trouvait un vendeur sympathique, toujours prêt à jaser et à dispenser mille et un conseils à ses clients, tout en gérant la playlist de musique funk et soul qui jouait dans les haut-parleurs. (C'est pas compliqué, j'ai Shazammé pas loin de 10 tounes le temps de trouver ce que je cherchais.) Pour un amateur de vinyls, on ne peut pas rêver de mieux: c'est parfait comme endroit. J'ai déjà hate d'y retourner.

It's located in a very walkable area of Quebec City that's surrounded by countless specialty shops and cafes, and I wish I had more time (and more money) to spend in this awesome shop! It's crowded inside. It's very crowded. The store isn't really all that large, but they manage to put three store's worth of merchandise in one small location. Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, it's all merchandise. The merchandise is crazy and awesome. There are vinyl records, games, comics, vintage signs and post cards, ages-old memorabilia, and more stuff than I could adequately remember to include. It was, of course, the vinyl record display outside the store that caught my attention. The staff was awesome and spoke both French and English. (I applaud the fact that so many people spoke both, when Americans (myself included, but I do know a fair amount of Spanish) tend to master only one language). Magasin Général P.L. Blouin is an amazing, charming, memorabilia filled shop that I wish wasn't so far away.

Low pressure souvenir shopping environment…read more This was the most comfortable store to shop in out of 10 stores that I shopped in. Also reasonable prices. Kind of disorganized but I liked the low key environment. The manager was very pleasant and accommodative and went downstairs to bring up more of a hat that I was trying on so that I can compare more on fit and feel. I ended up purchasing a Canada Hat here.

OMG, Vinyl records that have music on BOTH sides!! I was so…read moresurprised to see a Real Record Store that I thought I was reliving John Cusack's High Fidelity for a second. The guy running the place was chill and seemed to know his stuff - but you should all ask him if he's got The Three EP's by the Beta Band because in my excitement I totally forgot to ask. Yeah... I dare you all to make it 'a thing'. Anyway, they have a tiny little World section so I made it smaller by picking up a CD. I'm listening to it now and, well, dayum... it's good!
