I had the "Viennois" cafe because I've been wanting to try. It was ok- decent price and good taste but nothing extraordinary. The chantilly cream, which is supposed to typify Viennois style coffees (from what I've heard at least)- was just canned whipped cream here and over a latte. I'm guessing the real thing has much better cream and is a lot higher quality.

I am from Texas, came to Geneva on vacation and collect antique books from stores like this all over the world and I've never been more uncomfortable in a store before. The person working in the store followed me the entire time, standing behind me, readjusting every section I touched making me feel really observed and the store is already small so this made it feel like I really couldn't move and made me especially uncomfortable looking through items. Any time I even remotely came close to an area that had a "do not touch" sign the workers would stand up and peer over the desk to look at me from across the store. Ultimately I didn't even buy anything because I felt to scared to touch anything and too much pressure from being watched. I give this place 3 stars purely for the collection because it is a really admirable one and a unique place, but if you're a shopper that doesn't like being watched by employees this isn't the place for you.

I would have expected such an international city as Geneva to have a better english book store. I've been to all the ones that I know of, but maybe there _is_ a good one hidden around here somewhere. The attendant was helpful and friendly, so I can say that. She even recommended some book that were okay. Just not much there to select from.

Fnac - a shop for those who like CD's, TV's, Video Games, Anime, DVD's, Cameras, Books, Gadgets,…read morePhones..... to be honest, anything to do with Technology with the odd Book and Concert Ticket thrown in. Yes Fnac is the Swiss equivalent of Best Buy in the US and boy, it sure does a good job. Any time I've had to make a big technical purchase (Tv, Laptop.... batteries) I've always gone to Fnac. They are helpful, friendly and will get you the right product and not try to screw you over either. If you are a non french speaker, most of the staff also speak english... but come on, the only way to learn is to try ;)
