This is a fun stop to pass away the time with three floors of books, entertainment, crafts,…read morenotepads, you name it. I was delighted to find a decent sized English section with classic literature kicking off at 3,60 Euro. The staff was friendly enough and able to point me in the right direction. I appreciated the cool blast of air conditioning the moment I stepped inside. The space is very crisp and modern. If you're looking for travel books and guides, they have you covered. However, mostly in Italian. I would describe this place as the Barnes & Noble of Italy. I also noticed that they have a fair number of kids books and toys available. Happy reading! (And AC;)

This tiny bookstore is chock full of books and if you're dazzled by Prada and Versace, you'd miss…read morethis place. That would be a mistake. The Bocca bookstore opened in Turin in 1775. Yes, that 1775. It is likely one of the oldest bookstores anywhere. It was originally a chain of bookstores with others in Paris and Florence and Rome and Turin, but today only the Milan location remains. And in fact is only here in the Galleria Victtorio Emmanuele II because the people petitioned the government for it to remain. Thank you, Milanese, for recognizing how important books and reading are to humanity! This is a small shop and it is quite full. Some of the custom art is very expensive (look through the glass in the floor tiles) but there are many books here that are quite normally priced. And yes, some even in English. How cool is that! The experience here was not that great. It's not because of the selection of books and other…read morereading materials available or the fact that there are lifesize displays of anime and superhero characters on the upper floor, it's because of the rude staff who, instead of letting me know in a polite way not to sit on an empty floor shelf, raised her voice and used gestures to suggest that I leave the store. I was with my family of 5 and instead of letting them shop there and give them our business, we headed for the exit and vowed not to come back. Luckily we found another Mondadori somewhere else and did not encounter any rude staff working there.

There are 4 or 5 floors. Each bullet will represent a floor - Basement and cant remember what is here. - Books - Stationary items and misc things that we would find in Chapters that arent books. I hope that helps a bit in what is on this floor. - Electronics - I want to say CDs, DVDs, etc - Kitchen appliances and various other kitchen supplies and utensils. On this floor I saw they had 2 rooms where 1 room looked like there was going to be an author meet and greet and the other room a kitchen with chairs were lessons on cooking were about to be taught. I took the train into Milan specifically to go to this bookstore. American Bookstore wasn't an Amazon-styled warehouse of books. They had no catalog. You just look at the shelves and pick something out. And they have an immense selection to peruse and ponder. There were a lot of classics and plenty of new titles. They even had a large selection of rare books with a staff dedicated to restorations. It felt right out of The Nineth Gate. I spent an hour pulling volumes and pondering before I made my selection. It was one of the best hours I've spent in days but will be penultimate to when I open the book later on.

There are several rooms with a vintage 'rustic' decor where one can eat or study. I was there mid-afternoon and the crowd was mostly well dressed students, shorts, beards, framed glasses and manbuns. The baristas are nice and fashionable. On the wall they have a collection of framed comics from different Italian artists.It will be my official hangout in that area.

In the afternoon he returned with a helper, introduced as Francesco. It turns out it was the owner, Francesco Baracchi. As my wife talked with the buyer, signor Baracchi sat down and, uninvited, went to flip through a stack of paintings. Before I could stop him, he knocked a brass sculpture into an oil painting, causing an estimated 1,000 euros damage. There was no apology given, nor offer of compensation for the damage. Subsequent attempts to receive at least partial compensation were fruitless.

The cheapest thing I could find during these Italian July sales was literally €30 and bad quality. The higher-quality things are really expensive, like ridiculously expensive. I understand that it is vintage and some of the things are designer, but it really should be a little Less. Very hip Decour but the organization of the story itself is bad. They organized by color, not by style or size. Quite inconvenient. If I had more money, I would suppose I would like this better, as the higher-quality things cost more money. You might as will just go to a vintage kilo store and find things that look similar for less money
