When the IRS comes knocking on your door, pointing at that cheap tax program isn't going to work, having a tax accountant reduces your chances of an audit and usually keeps you legal. When I moved to PA, I found Kim's Bookkeeping & Tax Service. I have been using Kim's services for taxes for the last six years. She and her team are true professionals. On my first visit, she combined taxes from Ohio and Pennsylvania without a problem. She wasn't completely familiar with Ohio's local tax requirements, but you meet with Kim, provide all your documents, she usually provides an estimate of your return or payment to the IRS, and then her office calls you in approximately two weeks to come back and pick up the completed returns and to pay for the services. She also prepares property and school district tax rebates. I've referred several people to Kim over the years and everyone loves her and thanks me for referring them. I would highly recommend Kim's Bookkeeping & Tax Service to anyone looking for professional, friendly, and expedient services. Paid $300+ dollars for my taxes to be filed incorrectly. They were denied because some part of the…read moretax process was not completed as it should be.Someone was to be assisting and apparently forgot to "check a box". I was assured all I had to do was send in a new return and it wouldn't be an issue. They neglected to tell me that until the amended return was accepted (up to 16 weeks), I was on the hook for the $900 the government told me I owed based on the original incorrect return (instead of getting a 2K refund). Needless to say, I was not amused when I received a bill for the $900 (which I never even received the actual amount of from H&R block) with added late fees.When I called H&R block to figure out what was going on, I got the run around and was told it would be several days until someone could discuss it with me. I never did get a call back so had to call the IRS and figure it out on my own. Buyer beware- steer clear of this establishment! Very, very dissatisfied.
