    LGI Post-Purchase follow up

    Bought our house early last year. The process was alright, with communication on LGI's end being extremely poor. The house appears to be of good quality, so shout out to the trades that worked on it. That being said, we had scores of missing base boards, our hot water did not work, and our garage door did not open...all of items that were pointed during the walkthrough and subsequentially not fixed. Our first rainstorm in the new home tore our front gutter off the house. If you look at my screenshot, you'll see how seriously LGI takes their post-purchase maintenance...I filed in May and they reached out in November LOL. That's just insulting.

    Bought new home in 2023. They threw these up so fast, ive had roof leaks, AC leaks, and more. Costs us THOUSANDS of dollars!! Don't buy!

    First off I want to start by saying this has been an absolute nightmare from beginning to middle…read moreand towards "the end" we have yet to close on our home after 27 months (2 years and 3 months) We have been fed false information of how long the process is to built, not knowing who to contact in regards to certain concerns.. Even though we had a rocky start we have been nothing but patient until now! We have been in the process of "it's almost done be patient" since January, it was stated to myself and my family it wouldn't pass January, then told it wouldn't pass February, then March, then April and now May and still no news on when besides a simple "not yet" it's ridiculous i have said it multiple times I rather hear bad news then no news at all. Between Maronda, The City, and Health Department everyone blames each other! It is not fair to me nor my family to be on this waiting game with no answers, we have came to our leasing property manager so many times that because of the uncertainty we were placed on a month to month lease and not knowing what's going to happen next! all I want is a straightforward answer I also spoke with the sales rep voicing my concerns because I have also not heard from Project manager for any updates for more than 6 weeks, and since the last update we were told by the project manager he would have our closing by june 2nd and still no communication. Our sales rep avoids management at all costs and has an "answer" and a defense for any and every question or concern we have! We've been waiting to close since January 2023 with false promises and addendums and I'm sick of it ! After writing several emails to try to contact upper management they advised that "it could take up to a week" for someone to reach out and yet still after 2 weeks no communication whatsoever because not only has the home not been finished because they keep "failing inspections" but back in may I was told I had no option but to "lock in the rate" by their lender (Lender RMC told us that we had to lock in the rate because MARONDA told them we had to) and now that they passed the date that it was supposed to be closed by they are charging us a lock in rate fee of almost $2,000 which at that point we wrote an email for management to reach so Maronda could take care of the cost because this was out of our control and 2 weeks later no call for no one. We also was told the new way of communication was going to be by this app which not all the me members have even downloaded the app yet and the sales reps reply to that has been well "project managers reply at their own discretion" are you freaking kidding me ? I've never heard a reply so absurd in my life ! On top of that sales rep advised they only have to reach out 2 x in a month and it's been 6 weeks and no reply whatsoever ! I wish it was so easy to walk away but this economy has not allowed us to. It feels as if they have done nothing but try to scare us off to make more money of the built. This has put a hold on our life on our children's life my husband not being able to switch careers because they advised it would throw off the loan and chances of approval. My children not being able to start school in the location where our home is because of address verification purposes and soo many other factors. The lack of sympathy this company has its heart wrenching.
