He's well mannered, witty and great with babies and young kids. When we go for a checkup I feel he is a parent first (he has 6 kids of his own) on top of a very experienced doctor. He practices at Pediatric Associates (4th floor of building 14 inside Richland Medical Park close to where Hwy 277 turns into Bull Street). The practice is spacious, well equipped and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Castless as your pediatric doctor.

Called to update my phone number and request refills on my medication, had to ask the receptionist numerous times to calm down and stop raising her voice at me. I asked to speak to someone else several times and was denied. Was told that since I owe a bill that none of my refills will be authorized. How can a doctor knowingly allow a patient to go without medication when I had an appt set up for June months in advance. I told the receptionist that I would make sure it was taken care of before June. She continued on being rude so I told her I am coming to the office because I want to let Dr. Boone know how she is treating me. Get there wait a few minutes Dr. Boone comes out in the waiting room tells me I am interrupting her patient care by coming there but to come on back. I was in shock and told her I am sorry I bothered her and I walked out. I should have listened to everyone when they told me she makes unnecessary appts just to make money because my insurance covers two visits a year and after the second follow up visit she still needed to see me. I am upset because here I go and drive all the way to the office assuming that my doctor would see that something must be wrong for one of her patients to just show up at her office, instead she comes out just as rude as her staff all because I have not paid a past due bill! I am so happy I got away from them people! Luckily I found a new doctor just in time in March so that I can continue taking my medication without any interruptions! Experience: My boys have been seeing Dr. Rice since birth and she does a tremendous job. She refers you to a specialist without hesitation to ensure all steps are taken to provide your child with the best care. She is great with giving options on prescriptions, informing you on the quality and cost. Cons: The wait time is entirely too long even if you have a scheduled appointment. Needs more kid friendly activities in the waiting area. (cartoons on T.V, toys, books) Experience: I had a scheduled appointment at 2:00 pm and was not seen until 2:40. Once I was seen I realized that the doctor's were booked with several patients. This may suit your needs if you are a non working person, maybe retired person or yoga mom. This is not the place if you're busy, need help in a reasonable amount of time ... I would say 45 minutes is reasonable. But this place even to go over x-rays was going to take 1.5 to 2 hours. And again they did not accept my PPO from a blue Shield. The actual adjustment was pretty solid hence the two stars.

Once we registered, things moved fairly quickly and we were taken up stairs to the surgery area and a private waiting room. A child life representative met us and explained what was about to happen. She also gave my son a "car" to drive around in. A nurse came in to check his vitals and double check info. Two different reps came in to ask what our experience was so far. One of them went to see why the surgery didn't start on time; our surgeon was still working on a different patient. She gave an approximate time that we would be allowed back. The anesthesiologist and surgeon both spoke to us before taking our son back. We then had to move to the main waiting room with other families. We were sent text message updates once the procedure started and ended. The surgeon came out to talk to us after the procedure was done. They had a couple of private rooms separate from the main waiting room for privacy. I was allowed back with my son in the recovery room. The facilities were bright, clean, and playful. The rooms in the back were animal themed. We had the elephant room. Everyone we encountered was super nice and helpful. We were overly informed and reassured every step of the way.
