Kim's Family Child Care - Childcare by Kim's kitchen

    Kim's Family Child Care

To be…read morehonest, they helped care for us, too--especially when we were first-time parents who worried about every new scrape and bump. Kim and Ralph taught our kids to love reading and basketball, alike. They were patient, creative, and excellent at working with the full range of ages in their care. Their huge yard was a perfect playground, and I loved that our children spent time with different ages of kids As babies, they had big kids to look up to; as the big kids, they learned to be gentle and patient with the younger ones. Bringing our kids each morning felt like bringing them to extended family. We couldn't have asked for anything better.

Kim and Ralph are kind and patient, and they care for the kids as if they're their own. They plan fun, developmentally-appropriate activities each day, tailored to the kids' interests, and they have a HUGE shaded backyard to play in during the warmer months. They're also great communicators. Kim always let me know how my son did during the day, and, when asked, she gives great advice about managing the many baby and toddler transitions (e.g., starting solids, sleeping issues, discipline). My son absolutely LOVES it there, and he's rarely ready to leave when I pick him up at the end of the day. In fact, he talks about Kim and Ralph and his daycare friends all weekend long. We don't have family in the area, but Kim and Ralph have become like our extended family. I truly don't know what we'd do without them, and I highly, highly recommend them.

Clearly the standards at Panda are high - be it hygiene, the rich interactions between the teachers and students , the curriculum designed to encourage individual play as well as peer learning, the involvement of the staff and the attention to parents feedback by the management. My now 4.5 year old confident, happy and creative child blossomed in this daycare and all the kind teachers will forever be a part of her memories. I would recommend Panda to all my family and friends in a heartbeat! Thank you Panda for being an important part of shaping my daughter and preparing her for the real world.

Our center's mission is to offer the highest quality care and education for children from three months to kindergarten entry. The Panda Bilingual Daycare curriculum is inspired by many of the tenets of Maria Montessori's educational theory and practice, along with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and our own unique features. The core of the Montessori curriculum is divided into four main areas: sensory, practical life, language, and mathematics. Many of the materials and methods we use are derived from her work. The children will also explore cultural, scientific and historical subjects such as geography, geology, zoology and botany at levels appropriate to their development.

I went to LPC…read moreback in the 80's when the director Chris started this school, many of my first memories are of LPC, and they are warm and wonderful. My daughter recently finished 4 years at LPC and the whole family loved the experience. The small class sizes gave her the personal attention she needed to thrive. They have healthy snacks and they go outside all year round, getting exercise. It's very clean; my daughter had far fewer colds or illnesses than I expected. There are events throughout the year at which families can meet which we always looked forward to. The international flare is another interesting part of LPC. My daughter had kids in her class from France, Denmark, China and other countries as well. She still says some French words she learned from her classmate from time to time. At the same time that LPC is impressive, it's also a down to earth, welcoming place where people just feel comfortable. The feedback that we recently received from my daughter's kindergarten teacher is that she is very eager to learn and well-prepared for Kindergarten. We look forward to sending our son to LPC as well when he's old enough. It's a wonderful place.

The teachers are incredibly patient, kind, and creative - they come up with interesting and educational ways to engage the children. The student-teacher ratios are one of the best in the area and the facilities are clean, engaging, and fun for kids of all ages. After coming to LPC from knowing only a nanny her entire life, our daughter's transition was seamless. One week of sadness has now translated into months of fun and excitement about attending "school". We are so thankful to the staff at LPC and highly recommend it for any parent looking for a fun, educational, and engaging environment for their little one.

This place will always hold a special place in my heart! A few specific things that I want to call out, as I have found them incredibly valuable to me over the years. -GBLB is independently owned. The owner, Abby, is engaged, thoughtful, and incredible with kids. She is easy to contact and responsive. (I feel compelled to mention that she also has expert level face painting skills that each of my kids have loved!) -The staff are equally wonderful and most have been there for the full 10 years we have been at GBLB. I have loved the consistency this has provided my family/kids and they have all been remarkable. -Everyone is communicative and collaborative. I felt like we were all on the same team supporting each of my kids in their individual needs.
