I was recomended by my hygienist to have it removed before cavities begin to form due to the difficulty of brushing the area so I did some research and looked for referrals from friends. I previously removed a wisdom tooth a few years ago but put off removing the other three as I didn't want to be stuck eating soft foods for another three weeks again. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Dolman and that was when I knew Dr. Dolman was extremely knowledgeable and I could trust him with this procedure. Dr. Dolman is not pushy like a number of doctors are. Rather, he explains what would happen if you don't remove certain teeth and what would happen if you do. His explanations were clear and helped me prepare mentally for what I was about to go through. Doing any sort of dental work is usually pretty scary and pulling wisdom teeth is one of the scariest procedures for me due to the fears of dry sockets and things going wrong. However, Dr. Dolman is very experienced and goes above and beyond to make sure that his patients are safe, comfortable, and at ease before, during and after the procedure. Did I mention that during the procedure, I didn't feel a thing and was very relaxed? I didn't think that could be possible in a situation where someone would be yanking your teeth. What makes Dr. Dolman stand out is the experience post operation. I was provided a printout of what to expect for the next few weeks during recovery, what to eat and how often to change gauzes. In addition, Dr. Dolman gave me his number so I could text and call him if I had issues. He followed up periodically to check in and see how I was doing and answered questions I had very patiently. Dr. Dolman truly cares for his patients and I highly recommend everyone who needs oral surgery go to him. He is the best and I recommend all my friends to see him.

We thought it was doing fine until it started acting up again. He then recommended an apicoectomy procedure and referred me to Dr. Park from UPWS. I was hesitant at first because I had heard many horror stories not about Dr. Park, but about similar procedures that turned into nightmares. Long story short, I did my research, read reviews, and finally made the appointment (10.25.2022) Meeting Dr. Park for the first time, he was pleasant, brilliant, professional, and thorough. I had my apicoectomy done with just local anesthesia, and it was completely painless. Dr. Park was exceptional, truly on another level. After the procedure, I received post-op instructions, and to my surprise, he personally called me that evening to make sure I was doing okay. That was something I never expected. Whenever I called or texted, he would always respond or call back as soon as he was available. I also had a dental extraction with bone graft done by him, and it was the same excellent experience. His staff Emiliana and Siobhan were both helpful and pleasant. Siobhan handled my pre-determination for my upcoming implant through email, and she was reliable and responsive. During every visit, they both made sure I understood the costs, how much insurance would cover, and answered all my questions and concerns. The clinic itself is spotless and relatively quiet. If you need an oral surgeon or are undecided about surgery, consider this your sign Dr. Park is a gem. The only downside is that I can't make him my general dentist, but I'm so glad I met him.

Coming from a family of physicians, I found it highly unusual for patients to pay upfront when insurance covers it, but I was willing to proceed. He became very defensive, saying "Cigna is awful to deal with" and "I've been burned many times" - this is highly unprofessional for a doctor to vent personal frustrations to patients about insurance issues. I confirmed the Monday appointment during our call, saying, "I will see you Monday." I then called my insurance for clarification and received multiple confirmation texts from his office plus detailed pre-op instructions. When I arrived Monday, he looked shocked and said, "Well, you're here. I'm shocked you're here. Especially with how that conversation went." From my perspective, there was nothing wrong with how the conversation went. I simply asked clarification about the payment amount. He claimed I was supposed to call back to confirm and that was "the last thing" he told me, which was completely false. I had confirmed, called his office promptly after receiving confirmation texts, and even received a procedure bill via email after our Friday call, plus multiple call logs with his office that day. Already anxious about wisdom tooth complications I'd heard about from others, I apologized kindly for any confusion (even though I knew I had confirmed) and offered to reschedule. He dismissively said "let's get this over with," which made me very uneasy. I called my family expressing concern and debated proceeding. During prep, I mentioned drinking a tiny bit of water that morning due to dry mouth. He nodded and explained the procedure. Before starting, when I asked for clarification if the small amount of water would affect sedation (being nervous about my first time under full sedation), he accused me of "changing my story" and "going back and forth." I was stunned - I had just told him about the water moments earlier and was simply double-checking for safety. He shook his head, sighed, and repeated "Why are you going back and forth?" When I asked again if I'd be fine, he said "you've asked me if you'll be fine 3 times" and "did I do something to not make you trust me?" I've never experienced such unprofessional behavior from any medical professional. When he asked if I wanted to postpone and I said yes, he pressured me: "Well, are you sure? We're booked. So you might as well just do it now." I left and received my refund at the front desk. While he has 5-star reviews, read his 1-star reviews carefully - other patients detail similar encounters with incredible rudeness and unease, especially when costs are discussed. A physician should be professional and understanding, answering all questions with patience regardless of cost, especially when insurance is involved. I recommend finding a doctor who treats all patients with consistent kindness, doesn't let administrative issues affect their demeanor, and answers questions with sincerity. I've never felt this way with a medical professional and hope others don't experience what I did. Best of luck.

Common in NYC but it would have been nice if reception was transparent of the delay when I asked the first two times. I work as reception in a clinical setting also. Second appointment was for the removal of my top two wisdom teeth since the provider said if I'm getting one removed I might as well get both top ones removed. The appointment itself was under 15 minutes, including where they injected the numbing agent and we had to wait 10 minutes for the medication to take effect. I thought wow this was easier than expected, now my big issue here is that the provider failed to prescribe me any antibiotics... before I was even numbed I informed the provider I have asthma and it was written in my paperwork in the previous visit. The provider told me to just take two puffs prior to treatment and when the wisdom teeth were pulled out I was told that he wouldn't prescription anything because it was a simple procedure and I could take over the counter Tylenol for pain... the next day I was developing a sore throat and cough which I took medicine for but it did developed to pneumonia where I was coughing up blood... eventually saw my own providers for treatment and antibiotics but this could have been avoided had I been given proper care from this office given my medical history. Moral of my story is this office should always prescribe antibiotics and pain meds (even if just Tylenol) for wisdom teeth extractions. Reason for this novel of a poor review.

The younger receptionist with the side swept bangs was snarky, deflective, and dismissive, which made the situation worse-- she was irritated like my impacted wisdom tooth. Luckily, I asked and found out my insurance wasn't taken, which could've been clarified if they had replied. No point of me going back to the dentist for another referral based on my insurance-- would've been a waste of my time! If emails are only used for specific purposes, that should be clearly stated on the website. Not everyone in NYC has time to make a phone call during their shift at work. Let's be so for real. Based on their defensive responses to other reviews, especially on Google, they seem to avoid accountability. Better bedside manner, communication, and professionalism are needed.

I was being patient with the original scheduling from a different provider since it was not painful at the time. Then it was and in force so something needed to be done. Found my insurance was taken by BHOS and made an appointment only days after calling. They are a convenient ride via Mass Transit R, A, 4, 5, 2, and 3 and since this is a bustling area I do not recommend that you drive there. Take an Uber home if you must but don't drive down here. Once some paperwork was filled out I was in the chair and greeted by Sophia the dental assistant and Doctor Ramsa who was cordial and friendly about the process. He did some quick x-rays to see what we were dealing with and advised that the standard numbing would likely suffice as opposed to being put under. Once that stuff did its trick it was time for this painful tooth to be gone and I don't think it even took five minutes for the doctor to get it out. Now with such a removal they recommend an implant but right now I am not there financially for such a process so that will have to wait. On the upside this removal required no additional work like stitches and they just pack in the gauze to help the area clot as it heals. One is advised to take it easy for the remainder of the day and only eat a warm soup or have some juice a few hours later. Nothing that really involves chewing and its also pretty good to adopt a vow of silence for a few hours as well. Overall this was a positive visit and while I noticed some complaints about the front desk reception area, I was not treated badly at all by this part of the office. Perhaps they were approached with attitude and justifiably received some back but again it wasn't my experience. Closing up I must stress that if you find yourself waiting endlessly on an appointment from your provider for something on the critical side find another covered provider to get it done.
