Talented, friendly, and fairly priced jeweler. DSH stands for Daniel and Helaine Sutton, who have…read morebeen in the jewelry business forever! The store on Sterling Road in Hollywood is large, with an abundance of merchandise. I found DSH after looking at many jewelry stores. First I was looking to repair my engagement ring, then I decided to reset it. I then changed my mind again and decided to make an entirely new ring out of diamond studs I was given (since I do not wear earrings). Believe it or not, it is not easy to find nice settings for two diamonds. I soon realized the setting would have to be custom made. So I first looked at my neighborhood jewelers. One of them in Davie, Maurice at Maurice's Jewelry Box said that I should really go to his parent's store as they had a bigger selection. So that's how I ended up at DSH. I found a picture online had it copied. It was a beautiful vintage setting. The first wax model did not turn out quite as I wanted it the first time so Helaine and Daniel sent it to someone else to be redone at their expense. When it was finally complete, I loved the finished product! I then had DSH take my original engagement diamond to make a beautiful halo pendant. Another job I was very happy with! Since then, I have gone to the store to have my watch and jewelry repaired. Their jeweler is very experienced and does a great job. Helaine is so warm and friendly. From the moment I met her she made me feel like family. I think I have bought my share of jewelry for a long time. But it's nice to know that if I need anything, Helaine and Daniel are there.

Horrible experience. I gave DSH Jewelers the left piece of my only earrings for simple soldering…read more9/23 as the post broke in half (pic1). They never needed repair before, it was flawless (pic2-3), they didn't need to touch it. 9/25 I went to pick it up and the soldering was ugly, the earring shape was different, they removed the 14K gold hallmark (pic4) from the post, melted the main part, broke the right side of it (pic5) and the owner wanted to give it to me that way! When I told him about the hallmark and the newly broken part, he started yelling at me, said polishing hallmarks off is normal, called me a liar, stated I brought it that way and ordered me to leave. I told him I have pics of the original state, I had even showed some of it to his wife 9/23. I informed them I started voice recording. After minutes of yelling he agreed to repair the newly broken part. I went again 9/29 as they didn't handle it a priority and the earring looked even worse! 4th gemstone missing, stoneline crooked, more parts that didn't need touching were melted and distorted, the earring looked visibly smaller from the side and 1 of the 3 main wavelines disappeared! (pic6) Both works totally seemed like they were done by someone who never handled jewels before. Owner wasn't there, I thought they understood he does more harm than good to his own business. I spoke to the wife and to employee Angelica. When I complained they again tried to say I brought it that way but quickly agreed to fix it again. I asked to weigh each earring and she said both were the same but when I insisted on seeing the scale display it turned out the botched earring weighed over 10% less than the untouched one. Every time I was there they spoke to me as if I was stupid and gave obviously false explanation several times. She said how would the jeweler know what the design should look like if they don't have the other one! I was shocked but gave them the other for reference, stressing 6 times not to touch it. They canceled the 10/1 date as it wasn't ready. Emails in which I wrote what happened, what the earrings mean to me, how I expected full restoration including original weight and gold content were never replied to and I didn't get a date in phone calls so I went with my husband 10/5 and wanted to see my earrings. Owner was there but didn't say a word. Angelica said they took it elsewhere to get it fixed but the employee that was supposed to pick it up didn't come to work... but we didn't get a date. I called a few times and was told only the owner can talk to me now and I should call the next day as he already left. 10/9 he said it was ready. When I mentioned testing and weighing the jewel, he hung up the phone. I was afraid and went in with a police officer who stood by. Owner was lying, rude and instead of waiving the fee he charged me almost 4 times the original quote for working on their own mess twice! He demanded cash only, otherwise he wouldn't give me my earrings. I'm in constant shock. The earring is still different from the other, thinner, botched lines, with wider gaps in the front design, different shape from the side too, distorted in the back of the main design, 11 stones instead of 13, 1 in the middle is not supported by gold on 1 side, a second 14K hallmark missing from the rear part of the earring that never needed touching. Pics 7-10. They polished part of the unique hallmark off the other earring too that I told them not to touch under any circumstances. I asked him to perform a 14K gold test and he refused. I asked to weigh each earring and he refused. I've been asking him to replace the 14K gold hallmarks or provide a certificate and he refused. He said 'Sue me!'. The balance is off, the earring slides forward in my ear, exposing the post. I couldn't help but wonder if he treats his jewish customers better. But if he wants everyone's money, he has to give everyone proper service. This was the opposite. I took it elsewhere for weighing and it weighs at least 10% less than originally. Horrible experience and now I have to take time to report everywhere and file claims. Stay far away.
