Public Warning - My Experience with Echo Legal Services / Gilda Breda…read more I never expected that seeking help would turn into one of the most stressful experiences of my life. Despite being fully aware that I have a documented disability, and despite the fact that I had already filed a Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario Application (HRTO filed February 8, 2026), I was still served with court documents pursuing legal action against me. At the same time, a formal complaint has been filed with the Law Society of Ontario regarding this conduct. What disturbed me even more was hearing details about other clients and their alleged debts, including references to individuals supposedly owing $10,000 and how their lives were made extremely difficult over payment disputes. Hearing private information about other people raised serious concerns about professional boundaries and confidentiality. As someone dealing with a medical disability, the pressure and escalation of this situation has been overwhelming. Because of these concerns, I have formally taken action: * Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario Application filed (HRTO File No. 2026-65655) * Complaint filed with the Law Society of Ontario No one dealing with a disability should be subjected to unnecessary pressure or intimidation. If you are dealing with any legal service provider, my advice is simple: Document everything Know your rights Speak up when something feels wrong Transparency matters. Accountability matters.

I was informed that they do, it was up to the lawyer if they would, there is a $500.00 consultation fee for 1 hour. I pay the fee,and the lawyer called 10 minutes late, said they only work contingency with people that earned over 100k. Told me I could take them to small claims court and a few other things but really not worth the $525.00 (500+ tax) that I paid. The entire call was 20 minutes long. The receptionist could have informed me about the minimum wage required before I wasted my money. S. Monfette

Unacceptably slow responses cost me money and added stress…read more I retained Alex Lucifero, partner at Samfiru Tumarkin in August 2023. While I don't believe his representation improved the outcome, I was satisfied with the expertise and legal advice I received. The problem, rather, was related to response times. Replies to my simple, sometimes time-sensitive questions, by email, repeatedly went unanswered for over a week, despite many follow-ups to Mr. Lucifero and his assistant. As I write this, I've been waiting on a reply to one last question for 85 days (60 days since I asked it the third time.) As a result of all the delays, I ended up losing about $900. Mr. Lucifero also missed a calculation error that would have cost me $4,400 had I not caught it myself. Beyond the financial impacts, Mr. Lucifero's lack of attention to my dossier added considerable stress during an already stressful time. I know I am not a big fish. In hindsight, I wish I'd taken my business elsewhere or asked for a more junior lawyer who might have been more attentive.
