Every single person there was exceptionally kind, professional, and friendly. But the biggest shout-out goes to their integrity and ethics. Nuvia truly puts honesty before profit. I went in thinking I would be a candidate, but surprisingly, I was told I was not, and not for the reasons most people would expect. It wasn't because of bone loss or poor dental health. In fact, they told me I have very healthy bone and beautiful remaining front teeth. Even though I'm missing over half of my lower teeth, they could have easily taken my money and moved forward with the procedure anyway. Instead, they chose honesty and what was genuinely best for me. Woke up early yesterday with something hard and sharp in my mouth only to find that half of the crown had broken off of one of my back molars. Now I don't know about you, but Hump Day or not, this is still a pretty crummy way to start your morning, especially when you are as dentist-phobic as I am. Fortunately for me, I knew exactly who to call. One quick dial, and I was able to speak with a live person by 6 am to set an appointment, and by 9:00 am that same morning, I was there, bum in chair, getting all numbed up and ready to be worked on. Now is dental work fun? No way! Of course not. I'm not some masochist, for crying out loud. But was this tolerable? Absolutely. And when I got cold and started to shiver from the newly damp Portland fall weather, they immediately brought me a warm blanket to wrap up in. And I was not only allowed, but readily encouraged to rock out to some of my Apple Music on my Air Pods while they worked away. And just before noon rolled around, I walked out of the office with my brand new permanent crown cemented in place and lopsided grin in tow, ready to conquer the world! :) So thank you, Dr Barzangy, Hannah and Matt for another fantastic visit! We truly have to stop meeting like this. And please don't take this personally, but I plan to send out a poll in the near future requesting any pro tips on how to lower the stress level in my life. Aside from their great dental work, they really seem to care about people. I know that one of the dentists goes on missions in foreign countries to help the poor with basic dentistry. They also take patients that are part of the Oregon Plan (low income folks). So, while the practice is located in an affluent area + their techniques appear to be state of the art; they also take the time to help the less fortunate, which speaks volumes about the people associated with the practice.
