There was a fair amount of a language barrier, as I don't know enough Turkish to explain things in detail, but thankfully the shop owner's friend that had stopped in knew English. He got it done in a half a day with materials that looked to be of better quality than my shoes were originally made of. I offered him more money than he was asking for the repair and he refused.
