Cute little ice cream shop in town. I'm not one for sundaes as ice cream shops and should have stuck to that. However, the gal said the Come Together sundae is one of their most popular so I went with it. In my opinion, the cookies were dry and flavorless, just didn't pair well with the ice cream. This particular stop was basically the getting ice cream version of The good, the bad, and the ugly. The good: The ice cream itself was fantastic. I tried 3 different varieties and they were all decadent and creamy. They've got toppings for days. And the pricing is reasonable for being in a touristy area. The bad: this place didn't quite have its stuff together. There was confusion regarding which bowls to use, the spoon was kinda sad, the way the line/ordering worked front to back of the shop wasn't ideal for folks trying to get in and out or sit down to eat. And the random upcharge for toppings, while fine from a business standpoint, felt onerous and a bit out of touch (like hey, I know you can't give this stuff away, but maybe bake it into your pricing?). The ugly: Parking can (and was) a nightmare down here. Had to circle the block 3 times to find a spot. While that isn't the shop's fault, accessibility is kind of a big deal. Also there was a gaggle of kids who took approximately twenty minutes and caused the line to go out the door (and several potential customers behind me left). So it's great ice cream...if you can park within a reasonable distance, they aren't packed, and you don't care about getting up-charged for toppings. read more

I'm a little embarrassed to say that "Let it Be" has been open in the Waterfront District of Gulfport for a while and I'm just now giving it a try, but here we are. I'll start by saying I wish I'd tried it sooner, I loved what I tried, and I'm looking forward to my next visit, even if maybe my teeth and my waistline may not be! Mel, me, and two of our friends walked over to Let it Be on a Sunday afternoon after an early dinner at Sea Dog Cantina a few blocks away. Their storefront is practically across the street from the historic Gulfport Casino, and outdoor seating provides guests with great people watching opportunities as well as great proximity to the beach and pier. Walking into the store is like stepping back in time. The decor, the menu, the layout all evoke classic ice cream parlor memories. That nostalgic inspiration is all over their menu, too -- cups and waffle cones, of course, but also milkshakes, malts, floats, banana splits, anything else you could ask for. It's in their homemade flavors where guests get a little 21st century flair in terms of options. Let it Be features twists on traditional favorites, dairy-free choices, even vegan and "adult" flavors! They know their community and they do a great job of opening up their menu to a wider audience and from how busy they were when we came in, it seems the community love it. Oh! Let me start with I love ice cream but I'm always more of a soft serve person. So when I saw they had a flavor that I had never tried before I went in. The flavor in question was a lemon cardamom and boy am I glad I did. Hands down maybe my new all time favorite flavor. Liked it so much dragged my wife and our friend back so they could try it. I've had pistacio ice creams all over the world. But, I this one stands out. Frankly, I can't wait to go back for more. The coffee ice cream also amazing.
