We were just an American couple looking for a last minute dinner with no reservation. We passed by this place a few times before. So we're like, why not? We were so happy they seated us right away. The vibe inside was really vibrant, hip, and artsy. We were surrounded by mostly French people and not much tourists which gives it that feel of being in a real French restaurant. The menu is all in French so if you don't speak it fluently, just use Google lens to translate. Our waiter understood English and he was very friendly and kind. I loved my confit de canard (duck) on a bed of flavorful potatoes. It was so delicious. My husband ordered something raw- thinly sliced beef topped with arugula and shaved Parmesan. He wasn't so pleased because it didn't fill him up, haha. It may need some sauce too. He ended up ordering a charcuterie board. The beers according to him was OK or so-so. I'm surprised that there aren't higher reviews for this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was very positive and quick! We ordered escargots (snails), salmon with white butter and rice, risotto with chicken, and hot tea. Everything was delicious, especially the escargots and the salmon dish. Our server was brisk but very friendly! There wasn't an English menu but he offered to translate the menu for us, and he answered many of our questions. He even advised us on how to eat escargots (as we've never had escargots before). The restaurant had a classy, somewhat formal ambience. As tourists, eating here was a very positive experience, and I would recommend English-speakers to come here for a very French cuisine. But before you sit down, ask ahead for an English menu or a server like ours that can translate! read more

Great place. 4 1/2 stars. Adjacent to the Seine near the bridge with the original Statue of Liberty. Excellent locale for reasonably priced, nicely prepared dishes. Found this place on a tip from a colleague and took in a couple hours with some friends here. Typical French bistro, modern, friendly, corner location, lots of windows and easy to find. Our friendly waitress looked after us well. In fact, much of the staff passed by to say hello. For you tourists...the staff speaks very good English and the menus are in French and English. Some friends ordered the house salad. Now back in the States, you order a "house salad", you'l get some lettuce with a scattering of tomatoes. Here at Les Ondes, the house salad is a sight to see. For me I ordered the onion soup (6€) as an appetizer and then Boeuf Bourguignon (15.50€) for the main dish, Onion soup is top notch. Rich broth. Tender onions. Not too much cheese on the top. The Boeuf was off the hook. Awesome! Lean beef, cooked tender and well in a rich broth with not too overdone potatoes and carrot. Splendid! Good selection of wines including plenty by the glass. A bottle of Cotes du Rhone made me happy. Served by the glass as well. I am here in town a lot and plan to stop by again to try other items. We stopped by here for a couple glasses of wine and a desert. The waiters spoke English which was very helpful for us. We first sat outside until we noticed we had sat in the smoking area and then we decided to move inside. The waiter was helpful and allowed us to sit wherever we wanted. I asked for a light fruity glass of wine and when it was brought to me it was perfect! The creme brûlée was amazing and so light and creamy. My boyfriend had a darker red wine that paired well. The restaurant was clean, organized, and everyone was friendly. I had to use the restroom before leaving and I was happily directed by another waiter (the restrooms were clean and fully stocked). It's our first morning in Paris. It's raining and cold, and jetlag has messed up our clocks such that we can't do much more than stumble to the closest cafe to our rented apartment - so we find ourselves at Les Ondes. The service is brusque but not cold, and the food is decent if not great. I had a cheese omelette - a generous portion with a good bite to it, but the salad on the side had some nasty slimy bits of lettuce in it. I had wished for a croque madame, but by the time we arrived (9:30 am) they were all sold out. Finished with a nice coffee, and then back out into the rain. There are better cafes in the area, but Les Ondes wasn't a bad choice for a quick bite. Nice place to watch the world go by, and that's what a Parisien cafe is all about, no? read more

This is my go-to place when I can't find something to eat that meets my needs. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. I won't say that the main dishes are succulent but it is French food after all so you can't go (too) wrong. Their desserts are really, really good. I go to Paris about three times a year and you can find at Les Ondes at least twice during my visit. Since it is Paris, I recommend that you sit far from the door or windows because yes, people are allowed to smoke right outside and give a burnt flavor to your food! read more

Very pleasant location in 16th. We sat at an outdoor table which was nicely protected from cool breezes. Our server was outstanding, polite, and understood our limited French then quickly shifted to English. We had escargot which were excellent and served with plenty of bread to soak-up the garlic butter. Salads were wonderful. The onion soup was incredible with a great stock base and a cheese covered top. My daughter had a salad with avocado, bresaola and grains. So imaginative and delicious. This place is a great mix of French and international, with some Italian and American dishes. The menu is huge. I got the carpaccio with mushrooms and olive tapenade. It was excellent, and big enough for two at 15€. The wine was good and reasonably priced too. The onion soup was huge and to die for. Great place not far from the Eiffel Tower. read more

Les Ondes is a convenient place to stop and have a drink if you are in the area or are meeting someone who works at Maison de la Radio. The food is ok, the service is ok and the atmosphere is, well... ok. It's pretty solid, but nothing to write home about. read more
