Decided to try the Happy Hour for an early celebration of Cinco de Mayo The Happy Hour menu is limited to the High Top tables in the bar area. I prefer places that allow Happy Hour throughout the restaurant. There is a nice outdoor patio with comfortable seating but it was too windy on this day. We chose a table adjacent to the patio next to the open floor to ceiling door. We started with tasty Margarita's with complementary chips and red and green salsa. The food order was the Chopped Salad and Chicken Quesadilla. The salad was easily large enough for 3 people. It contained a wide variety of garden goodness. The Quesadilla is a large flour tortilla filled with queso and chicken and cut in 4 pieces. It is served with guacamole, pico de gallo on the side with lime crema The chicken was tender and tasty Our server Danielle was friendly and she checked on us periodically. This restaurant is decorated beautifully. We had quick service with a knowledgeable waiter who gave us recommendations and explained the menu since we had never been there before. Our drinks were delicious. We got margaritas and a mule. You get the option of mezcal (smoked) if you'd like with salt or tajin. We opted for tacos for dinner. I got crispy shrimp, which was spicy and mouth watering. My husband got 3 different tacos, which wasn't shown on the menu, but the waiter accommodated his request. Before dinner we got ceviche. I've been here twice now & both times the food has been great. My most recent visit was during happy hour (3-5pm) and i would say the best deal on there are the $10 cocktails. There are three taco options for $5 each. One thing to note is that the portions are quite small (HH and regular menu) so think of this place as a tapas restaurant. I was also slightly disappointed that the $10 guacamole is a very tiny portion. But other than the higher than average costs, I've had the crispy shrimp tacos twice and both times have hit the spot (I highly recommend these)! We also ordered a side of rice and beans and I would say the beans are also 10/10! Amazing flavors. My husband had the beef tacos which were good, but they really skimp out on the beef. The only reason this place gets two stars is because the the service saves it from getting zero stars. You'd get better value from tossing $80 into a slot machine than ordering off the grossly overpriced menu here. Ordered a taco trio, two veggie and a grilled shrimp. There couldn't have been more than 60 cents worth of food on the plate. The veggie tacos had two minuscule sweet potato rings (the size of small carrot rings) cut in half with drizzled crème on them. That's it. Not exaggerating and not joking. Shrimp taco had one (1, uno) overcooked shrimp with something else (I can't remember what because this meal was so not worth remembering). I literally could fold my taco into thirds - flat. My wife has a dairy allergy, and while the staff did an excellent job of minding her allergy, they failed to tell us that the rice, beans, and guacamole all have dairy in them. So when they brought her meal without the sides, we had to ask why they were missing. They didn't even offer any substitutions. Classless, overpriced disappointment for a birthday dinner. Decided to try this new place in the red rock hotel with my husband and a couple of friends. They had build your own margaritas which is something I was super excited for the service was amazing our waiter was great. We ordered Queso Fundido but it was gone so fast that I didn't even get to take a picture of it. Wanted to come here since they opened so was excited to meet a friend there for lunch. We got in right away without a reservation cause it wasn't too busy. It's pretty open inside with a lot of earth tone color schemes. Ordered the mango margarita with tajin. You have the option to make it spicy or not and I chose no spice this time. It was huge but perfectly refreshing! Also got two of the crispy shrimp tacos and they were delicious. We tried this place on Valentine's Day. We had a reservation at 6 but they were able to sit us at 5:50pm . This place had recently opened where Hearthstone used to be located. The atmosphere made me feel like I was transported to an all inclusive resort. The food was absolutely incredible. Came here for a Sunday dinner and was able to get a reservation just an hour before our arrival. I had a Paloma and my date had La Serena - both were exquisite. The spread consisted of watermelon tostada, guacamole & chips, steak picado, carnitas tacos, and street corn. And our waiter came promptly to take our orders. However he did not come by often to ask us how was our food or if we need anything else. Leoncito is one of the newest restaurants at Red Rock, so I was excited to give it a try. I came in with my friend, and we decided to dine at the bar since there were a couple of spots open. The interior is dimly lit and felt very intimate. There are a lot of seating options--standard tables, booths, high tables, bar seating, and outdoor seating. Shy was our bartender, server, and caretaker. She did a stellar job with recommendations and ensured my friend and me had a great time while we were there. Visited for the first time for happy hour yesterday and had a great experience! It's located in the red rock casino but very easy to locate, and the restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious with lovely decor and wonderful staff. We sat up at the bar and I had 2 delicious Michelada's and my friend had 2 spicy mezcal margaritas with cilantro salt that she loved. Our server was Shai and she was absolutely fantastic. She was funny and sweet and kept up really well taken care of. We shared Guacamole, which was good but was a small serving. However it was accompanied by warm fresh tortilla chips and one of the best salsa verdes I've had, as well as a delicious traditional salsa. We also shared a Caesar salad 7/10, and the queso fundido 8.5/10. Food and happy hour prices were great, and again, Shai was fantastic. We will definitely be back, and we really want to try the brunch! read more

The salsa and the chips were very salty (I had to ask after 12 mins for some chips and salsa). The tacos were cold, meat dried out and way too many flavors going on for tacos!!! The "servers/bartenders" were less than friendly and no one checked on me once I received my meal.They didn't smile, zero eye contact and only spoke among one another. Notably, the couple next to me ask if I had been here before and I answered " no and I would never come back or recommend" Their response was " we feel exactly the same". To start, they serve the best Old Fashioned, known as the Oaxacan Old Fashioned. Instead of bourbon, they use mezcal, and it was simply exceptional. My dear friend invited me to the family and friends party before their grand opening. We enjoyed fantastic appetizers, including quesadillas, carrot and salsa, then a mouthwatering born-in rib-eye al pastor, birria, carnita tacos, and cauliflower al pastor. Everything was incredibly delicious. While it might be on the expensive side (I'll post the menu), the born-in rib-eye was definitely worth it. We also indulged in pudding for dessert, but I was quite drunk by then and can hardly recall it. Although it was a very busy night, staffs were very friendly and kind. Service was pretty fast and the bar looked beautiful as well. We had a really great evening. The Oaxacan Old Fashioned is an absolute must-try. I came here with my visiting family after taking the kids to the arcade. It wasn't very busy inside. The restaurant is very attractive and the seating was comfortable. Chips and salsa came pretty readily but we waited a while to get water brought to the table. The salsas were not spicy at all but I'm Ok with that. The server did come over in a reasonable amount of time. Her name was Danielle and she was very nice. She helped explain menu items so we could get something the kids would eat and also made some suggestions. Then she was gone ....for a while. She eventually got another server to take our order. As I said the place wasn't busy but looks like they understaffed it despite that. Our second server, Jeffrey, was also very nice. He took our order and our chips and salsa were replaced often. The margaritas come in sizes and you have a choice of Tequila or Mezcal, spicy or not , etc. I got the grande size and my sister got the standard. Both had lots of ice in the glass and not lots of margarita. You can see them in the photo. They definitely were made with fresh juice, which I appreciate. They were bit short on the booze though. I also felt they were a bit too tangy with juice. I ordered mine Cadillac and could not taste the Gran Marnier. They could benefit from a dash of simple syrup or triple sec. For dinner we ordered the flautas, plain cheese quesadilla, chicken enchiladas, rice, beans and the Camarones con Rajas. We had a pretty long wait for the food to come out ...at least 25 minutes...and the enchiladas were missing. Jeffrey came to the table and apologized profusely, and also gave my sister a free margarita.....and eventually we got the enchiladas. The servers seem to be great but it appears they are not being well supported by the way the place is run. Everything is very, very mild flavored but all of the ingredients taste high quality. I have eaten a lot in Mexico, specifically in the state of Colima. Most all of the food there is very mild unless otherwise specified on the menu. They usually have a large selection of hot sauces and hot pickled veggies on the table so you can spice it up if you like. This restaurant does not have that...but I'm OK with the mild flavors. I did see one thing that came with habanero cream so there are some spicier dishes as well. Everyone was ok with what they ordered. The only really outstanding dish was the chicken enchiladas. The lime crema and tomatillo salsa on the enchiladas was very tasty and the chicken was cooked and seasoned very well. We also all enjoyed the beans. You can tell they are cooked fresh and not preprepared. The prices are definitely high for the portion size. The Camarones con Rajas only has 5 shrimp on the plate...and they're not the large sized ones....medium at best. I would eat here again but would not purposefully return if that makes sense. The food was good and high quality but not particularly crave worthy in my opinion. It also looks like they are still working some kinks in providing timely service. read more

Today was the official opening of the restaurant, so all the previous reviews were from their media invite or friends and family events, so you have to take their automatic 5-star reviews with a grain of salt. The interior is beautiful. As you as walk in, the open kitchen is to the left as it transitions into a large bar with high table tops. I sat in a very comfortable area with plush cushions with a open view of the entire restaurant. Here are the menu items we tried: Flautas de machego (beef barbacoa) $16 Mole poblano - half roasted chicken, spanish rice $38 Enchilada verde - tomatillo salsa (beef) $22 Shrimp tacos (2) $16 Baja fish tacos (2) $18 Mexican flan with coconut whipped cream $14 Before I go into detail about these items, the complimentary chips and salsa were excellent. The chips are house made and fried, and both the red and green salsa have a slight kick. Super addictive, and you can ask for as much as you want. My favorite items were the shrimp tacos and flautas. The shrimp tacos were hard-shell fried, with the inside packed with a ton of flavor. I could've devoured a half dozen of these. The flautas were nicely presented in a pinwheel layout and paired nicely with the avocado and lime crema. The enchiladas, baja fish tacos, and the mole poblano were all very average, in my opinion. Vegas has its fair share of excellent Mexican restaurants, and I've had better versions of these dishes elsewhere. The most disappointing was the mole poblano dish. The mole was not very deep in flavor, and was a bit on the salty side. The roasted chicken tasted very standard, and needed the complimentary salsa to amp up the flavor profile. The presentation was awful too, it looked like a bunch of chopped up rotisserie chicken from Costco or Crazy Pita dumped on a plate with no garnish. Not the best first impression for $38. The dessert did make up for it. We chose the flan and it did not disappoint. It is a large portion, and comes with a side of coconut whipped cream with toasted coconut shavings on top for some added texture. Leoncito has large cocktails menu, and I will return to try some drinks when in the mood. Service was ultra friendly and on point with topping off water and clearing off dirty dishes. As expected, prices are on the higher side -- on par with an upscale restaurant located inside the Red Rock. There were a few logistical hiccups, but understandable given that it was opening day. read more

Barbacoa flautas presented well but tasted like they came out of the box from the freezer section. Salad was substantial in size but 98% lettuce. Herb dressing wasn't flavorful. Other items may be great but I wouldn't try these again. If you're looking for traditional Mexican food this isn't the place. The menu is small and more drink forward than food. But it is Vegas and if you're looking for great drinks this is the place. They basically have a 'build your own' margarita menu, a variety of flavors and rim options.
