We were greeted warmly, offered drinks, and made comfortable right away. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a solid job educating us while guiding the sale. It didn't feel aggressive -- more structured and transactional with some steering involved. Atmosphere: Clean showroom. Comfortable seating. Excellent lighting (which absolutely matters when you're diamond shopping). Plenty of inventory and options to look at. Overall, it feels like a well-run, professional jewelry store. Now here's where things shifted for us. Pricing (Lab Diamonds): We were quoted around $5,000 for a lab-grown diamond ring -- 3 carats or less on a 14k gold band. That immediately raised red flags for us because we had already been shopping around. A competitor offered a nearly identical ring -- similar specs, slightly different brand name on the band -- for about $2,500. That's a massive difference. We understand local stores have overhead. We understand brand premiums. But a 100% markup on a lab-grown diamond in today's market feels excessive -- especially when lab prices have dropped significantly nationwide. What bothered us most wasn't just the price -- it was that it was presented as firm and non-negotiable. For shoppers who haven't done their homework, that's a very expensive lesson. Overall Thoughts: Great environment. Great service. Professional experience. But pricing on lab diamonds felt inflated compared to market value. If you shop here, do your research first and compare before committing. 2 out of 5 stars

After purchasing an engagement ring from Louisiana Coin & Jewelry, I was on a tight deadline to get…read moreit resized before proposing. I called around town for quotes. Several places made it difficult -- insisting they had to see the ring first and wouldn't even give a range over the phone. McCary's was different. I described the ring, asked for a quote, and they confidently gave me a range of $25-$75. Simple. Transparent. No runaround. I dropped it off and had it resized in just 2 days. Fast turnaround. No stress. Exactly what I needed. That alone impressed me. A little later, I returned with a different issue -- my gold chain had split at the clasp (crab/clamper). The staff took it to the jeweler in the back, and within five minutes came back and said: "Fixed. No charge." They simply adjusted the clasp back into place and recommended a future repair only if it started to fray. They absolutely could have charged me -- but they didn't. That says a lot. Atmosphere: The store is beautiful. Clean. Elegant. It feels refined without being intimidating. Comfortable, professional environment. Customer Service: Efficient. Straightforward. Helpful. Not pushy. In an industry where pricing can feel inflated and service can feel sales-driven, McCary's stood out by being honest, fair, and timely.

They stand behind their work and aim for customer satisfaction. Their inventory of gems and jewelry is beautiful, as well. McCary's is the favored jeweler of many people in NW Louisiana. Lastly, it is a locally owned business, thriving and serving the area for generations.

I have this simple *real* gold necklace, only 10k stamped on it, but it has sentimental value for my boyfriend & I. We had the idea to have him find a jeweler to melt it down & if need be, add more to it of course, to make my engagement ring. Nothing too crazy but I thought why not!? Well my boyfriend went in there & long story short, he felt highly uncomfortable, rudely spoken to, disregarded, and literally laughed at. Out loud. As they looked at the necklace, pointed, looked at him & laughed. How absolutely appalling. I wish he had gotten their names. Because that's absolutely disgusting behavior. The first girl tried to claim it was fake. Another guy looked & said no it's real, just a penny worth & hollow. Basically they tried to say it's not even worth using my necklace in anything at all. He explained the whole point of it is to keep it apart of the ring as our sentimental bit, then at some point my bf mentioned his mother, and they recognized her name as a good frequent customer that hasn't been by lately & all of a sudden their attitudes changed! Asinine! Wild. Now he's getting texted some simple rough drafts of what they could do for the idea of style he gave them & the prices. Appalling honestly. Apparently the owner was the only one to treat my boyfriend somewhat humanely, despite seeming somewhat annoyed with the requests but still professional, probably still wanting the bit of business from him. We'll be checking other jewelers in the area to see what's best, vibes over price.
