This is a really modern hotel by the Olympia Park so it's a bit out of the way from the historic town of Munich which is probably a good thing as it is also in no way a historic type place! It is, however, located conveniently close to a subway (or u-bahn) station that is 200m --which is what Europeans like to say for something close by-- from the hotel. It might be 205m or possibly 300m, but they will still tell you it's 200m.
Let me just preface that of all the places in the world, Germany does breakfast the best. Nearly everywhere you go, they will have a large spread of breakfast foods including cold cuts and cheeses available and Leonardo served probably the best breakfast I've had in Germany yet and I've been to a lot of places in Germany. They literally have rows of food that look perfect and replenished within seconds of walking to the next part of the buffet. It's truly immaculate. Coffee is also great and I don't even like coffee. I just drink it as a jet lag measure. This breakfast already gives them 2 full stars.
The rooms are okay. It's a really big hotel and kinda easy to get lost in. They are set up like a typical hotel where you walk in and have your bathroom on the right and then past that is the bedroom. Hotel rooms in Europe aren't usually spacious and neither are the rooms here, but for 2 adults who were barely in the room, this place was not bad at all. Not sure why the bathroom door has a glass door (mostly opaque.) I've never been a fan of seeing anyone using bathroom facilities, but maybe people in Germany are into that sort of thing? Also, they give you really strange bear shaped candies on your bed that almost have an alka sezler feel to them. Some of the folks we were there with thought they were sleeping pills, but I think they are just candies.
Not a bad option for a hotel in the area, especially with that amazing breakfast!! read more
