It has a very clean and light open airy feeling. The mall is also very well kept with little garbage and trash laying around. You will also see security every so often patrol and make sure things are in order. Inside there is also a Edeka where you can grocery shop along with a cheaper store, I believe its Aldi. There are several dining options, but be prepared, they're not like the "options" at an American mall. There is a cafe that even serves pizza slices and pastries, a 'fish and chips' diner, and a couple of German deli style food options, along with a stand-alone coffee shop which looks like a bar in the walkway of the mall. This mall has an Apple store! (Reviews for the Apple store are posted separately.) The fashion prices in the mall are not that great, but at least you can find most of what you need. We paid 400€ (do the US conversion) for a party gown. We also paid 100€ for my daughter's athletic shoes (which didn't last six months anyway). If you have access to the military base, you can always find better prices on clothing and shoes there. But, they don't always have the size (or style) you need so you end up overpaying at the mall if you're in a pinch. The atmosphere is very pleasant here. The chocolate shop is my favorite part about this mall. (Yummy!)

Certainly, Schwabengalerie is uncomparable with the shopping giants such as Kaufhof or Karstadt but it is quite good to buy groceries (Kaufland or Aldi), household products (dm), electronics (MediaMarkt), small gifts (Nanu Nana), books, computer games, to go to hairdresser's, fitness-studio, bank (LBBW), etc. Unfortunately, park places in the shopping center are not so cheap.

An item that one of us wanted was a hair product that on Amazon is about $25 but at the store it's three dollars so they were stocking it up. The mall has a whole bunch of sub buildings nearby each other in which are connected through an outer area. Overall it had interesting stores just to check out since some of the stores we do have back at home. Others are unique on their own.

The mall is divided into multiple buildings so you have to know which building the store you want is in. To travel between buildings on the ground floor, you need to go outside. Due to the current situation, they have markings on the ground indicating the direction of travel. Not many people follow it. Most stores have run out of their hand sanitizer. They have the pump available at the front of the store but it's empty. Fortunately, they also have hand sanitizer at the entrances to each mall building. They have a lot of stores I need (Mango, H&M, dm, Primark, Zara) and a lot that I do not (Deichmann, Fielmann, S. Oliver, TeDi, C&A). The restaurant selection could be better. If there were something appealing to eat, I would have had lunch there. I didn't. They have Starbucks.

There is the typical food court with an impressive variety of German and other ethnic foods (especially pizza and gelato). Worth a look, especially if you're traveling alone or new to the area. It's a nice first stop before you venture out to the rest of the area, especially the crowds of downtown Stuttgart. I'm not suggesting lingering here, but visit, get your bearings, maybe enjoy some gelato (why would you pass THAT up) and then explore!

The bead jewelry store is called The P Cookery. Also on the bottom floor entrance of mall is an Ice Cream shop. Eis La Lana or La Luna. You can get €1 scoops and or order fancy ice cream desserts w/ fancy fresh fruit fixings. This mall also has a T.K. Maxx which is known as TJ Maxx in the USA. Nice for all the americans thats missing some home. There's other shops as well that are worth visiting in this mall. I frequent this place because I make jewelry. So for the crafty hands this is definitely the place to go.

This is a brand new mall across from the castle, so about a 10 minute walk from the train station…read more I stopped in another mall closer to the station and like this one a lot better -- more food options, a nice grocery store in the basement, a large consumer electronics store (Saturn), and a TK Maxx (seems to be the same as a TJ Maxx in the US). There was also a natural foods store with a lot of gluten free options. And for kids, they have cookie baking afternoons and offer ponies on wheels to ride around the ground floor. Sooo cute! Too bad they don't make them for adults :)
