The older guy who actually repairs the glasses is by far the thing that makes me want to come back to this place every time. It's been a minute since I've been there, so I am not sure if he is still there. But, once I went in there for a standard eye exam and he noticed me pushing up my glasses occasionally. He didn't say anything, but when he took my glasses out of the exam room to clean them, he tightened up the screws and gave them an all around touch up without even asking. He was just able to tell even the small inconveniences and barely-noticeable wear and tear on them just from talking to me for a few minutes. It was extremely impressive. The other staff is usually friendly as well, if not a little bit reserved/socially awkward. But, overall, I absolutely adore the older guy who works on the glasses there. Would recommend going there just for him if he is still there. read more

When I entered the store I told the girl my insurance would cover $600 and that I wanted to stay within that pricing. She responded it would be no problem but she wanted to enter all my information before I even got to look at any frames. After entering everything and picking out a frame I was then told my glasses would cost around $1300 so after insurance I would still have to pay out of pocket over $650. I thought the sign said if I bought a complete pair of glasses the lenses were 40% off. The frames I chose were $207 They never mentioned the discount or explained how the price came to that amount. Just gave me a dumb look when I asked. I told them I had just purchased (2) pair of glasses from Costco for $397. I left LensCrafters and went to Clarkson. They were half the price of LensCrafters. read more

I love the LensCrafters tech to get a prescription, and I had no troubles going in there to just get that and my pupillary distance (which you need to buy glasses online). But then my wife went in with our young daughter and experienced the hard sale of in house frames and the refusal to give a PD measurement so we couldn't order frames online. Ridiculous, and should be fraudulent (it is in some states). They should be ashamed. read more

I went there because they said they still had rimless glasses available. The frames and lenses were quite pricey but at least they had a small selection. I normally buy two pairs of glasses: one for general distance use (like driving) and another for use when I'm doing things with my computer. The glasses seemed to take forever to get made, so after a month of waiting, I contacted Lenscrafters, only to find out that they had had the two pairs at their location for a couple of weeks. I expressed my concern that no one had contacted me, only to be told that I had indeed been contacted. All I can guess is that they mistook my wireline phone for a cell phone and sent a text message to it when the glasses were at their location. The style I had chosen for distance viewing had springs inside the temples, allowing them to flex without putting too much pressure on the lenses. However, the other style I chose for computer use didn't have that flexibility built in and after a short while, the lenses began to splinter around the places where holes had been drilled into the them to accommodate the attached frame pieces. Lenscrafters has a period of time after purchase where I could bring them back and they would replace the glasses without charge, so I was within that limit. However, these began to splinter in almost exactly the same manner the first pair had. I was now beyond the return for no cost replacement period, but I still had a 1-year warranty. Circumstances didn't allow me to get back to their location until after the new year (2023), so my prescription had run out. That didn't allow me to buy a different frame that would have a partial rim and hopefully avoid the same fragility problem. However, since I was beyond my prescription's end date, I had to settle on another pair of the same glasses. I figured, okay, I guess I'll see if these actually function or maybe I'll need to go back to my eye doctor for a new prescription so I can buy a far less expensive pair online. While the person at Lenscrafters was processing the replacement order, I was informed that I had a "co-pay" of $50 (plus tax and fees) to pay to replace the broken glasses. At first I didn't understand but eventually relented, since I didn't really have any other choice. It's like finding out that some electronics I bought was faulty and I'd have to pay a "restocking fee" for something they were likely going to throw away anyway. Needless to say, this has been a very expensive investment of time and money on what turned out to be a defective product, where I have to pay to replace it with the exact same item, almost guaranteeing that I'd need to replace it, too, so they could charge me another "co-pay". I'm not going back to Lenscrafters ever again, because they basically sell expensive but defective products and then expect their customers to pay more money just to get the glasses replaced with the same defective products, and so on, ad nauseum. I really hope they go out of business soon. read more

I got stuck with the only bummer in there. So not friendly or welcoming. Gave me wrong info on my insurance and what they would pay. Found out through talking to Humana and a rep at a competitor. The lenses are advertised At 50% off. I heard the price of $959 and just laughed. She didn't show me the way this was calculated or offer an alternative. Never felt so dissed in my life. I have been getting glasses at Lenscrafters for a long time and have always been happy with them. However, this particular branch has simply missed the mark. I purchased a pair of $360 glasses. I am happy with the frames I got, however, they need to be adjusted.. I have gone in 4 times in the past 3 weeks to have them adjusted properly. I still have red marks on my nose and behind my ear. The girls behind the counter appear to have no knowledge or skill about adjusting. Each time I have been in they attempt to guess at how to do the fitting. They are young girls that will rush you out. I went to another location to get them fitted properly. read more

I can't say enough about how impressed I am with this place. My husband and I had a not-so-great experience with a mom and pop optical place, so we decided to try here. Wow. First, the exam was great. Everything was explained, and the doctors were great. The biggest difference, though, was when we picked glasses. Everything was explained and they were patient and thorough. The best part was Michael Dufner. He was knowledgeable and fun to work with. When my glasses didn't come in with my husband's, he offered to bring them to me on his way home from work. He's also a genius at adjusting the glasses so they fit right and you see great. I stopped back today to get my Rx sunglasses adjusted, and not only did he greet me like an old friend, but he remembered how he'd adjusted my regular glasses. We'll definitely go back. read more

Every year I get excited when its time for my eye exam. I love to get new glasses! But my experience at the South County LensCrafters ruined my special day. As I stepped into the store (at 5:10 pm) for my scheduled 5:20 pm exam not one of the three sales people acknowledged me, as they were with customers. They all looked at me but no one said 'hello', no one said 'we'll be with you in a moment' or even 'what can we help you with you today'. Strike 1. So I took it upon myself to look at frames until someone got a moment to assist me. So I was left to look at frames for 20 minutes and still no one asked if I needed help. So I went to the counter and you know who asked me if I needed help? The optometrist. It was now 5:30 pm. She gave me paper work to fill out and then passed me off to an 'eyeglass specialist', or so her name tag said, who asked me about sunglasses and what I do for a living. Then she took me in the back to take pictures of my eye (very cool) and gave me the eye puff test we all know and love. She put me in the exam room to wait for the doctor. The doctor was amazing. She has a great personality and she explained everything in detail so I knew exactly what she was doing. She then led me back to the floor to get further assistance from the 'eyeglass specialist'. I told her I was interested in getting 2 pairs of eyeglasses, she said great and pointed at the wall where the women's glasses were and told me she would be over to help me in a moment, as she was getting my paper work together. Another customer, male, walks in and is greeted with a cheerful HOW CAN I HELP YOU. He said he was picking up glasses and the eyeglass specialist that was supposed to assist me promptly sat down to help this gentleman try on his new glasses. I had been in the store for almost an hour so I asked for the ladies room and was instructed by my same eyeglass specialist as to where it was. I figured by the time I got back she would be done adjusting the gentleman's glasses and could then ASSIST ME. When I came back out she was still talking to the gentleman and didn't say a word to me. Strike 2. So I looked at glasses for another 5 minutes, got frustrated because still no one was assisting me, walked to the register and I asked a different sales person if I could check out. At this point MY eyeglass specialist looks at me and says 'Oh I forgot all about you' and went back to having a casual conversation with the gentleman about discounts on eyeglasses that she never even bothered to tell me about. Strike 3. This was such a bad experience for me that I actually cried when I got in the car. I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service. I did not purchase eye glasses from them. I will never purchase eye glasses from them. Even though the doctor was amazing I will never get another exam here nor will I recommend this location to anyone...for anything. Call me crazy, but good customer service goes a long way with me. I guess that is not something they strive for at this location. I only chose the one in South County because it is closer to my home. But I'll still purchase my glasses from Lens Crafters.... in the West County Mall. read more

I have a confession to make. I hate going to the eye doctor for a very good reason (the dreaded retinal exam where they dilate your eyes). With a history of migraines, this is the one part of the eye exam I absolutely hate. Bright lights scare the crap out of me. This eye exam was different. Instead of doing the dreaded dilation, I got to have the back of my eyes looked at with this cool computer where they take pictures of the back of your eyes. YIPPPEEE! If there is something that needed to be looked at further, I could always get dilated. However, I got the dreaded headache right after the several eye tests (to measure pressure, etc.). So, if you are like me, take a headache pill about an hour before your eye exam. Friendly & helpful employees. read more

Friendly staff but small selection on frames. I went to my usual eye care provider and was rebuffed due to doctor availability. Then, Wife reminded me of a commercial slogan from the mid-90's, "Glasses in about an hour". We made a call and sped off to LensCrafters near South County mall. The appointment was easily made and the doctor was accommodating. A woman named Pat conducted the pre-tests and was very friendly. The doctor spent a quick fifteen minutes for the eye exam then turned me loose on the selection of frames. I am not a guy who cares about fashion, so I do not want to pay extra for Cool Guy name brands. The selections were a little pricey but all of those brand names I here about in bad hip hop songs were available. I was able to find a nice pair of black frames on the discount shelf for about $100. Th feline print should have a disclaimer indicating that if you want glasses in about an hour, you will pay for it. Eye exam, frames, and lenses ended with a $281 price tag. I wanted glasses today and paid about twice as much as if I had waited the two weeks from the typical place. Good service and the glasses look fine but the price was a bit much. read more

This is the only LensCrafters location I trust (I've had bad experiences elsewhere). Dr. Solomon is thorough and friendly - very receptive to questions and does a good job educating the patient. Dana, the general manager, helped me pick out frames and explained all the expenses incurred clearly. He's friendly as hell and runs a tight ship. Dealt solely with a staff associate. She was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly! Word of WARNING!--Going into this business, is akin to dealing with a used car dealer! These individuals, are cunningly trained to sell, sell, sell! I was VERY clear, that, I needed ONLY, one eye glass lens replaced in the pair of frames in my hand. At one point, she had me go look at frames that "have the same lens size". I thought for sizing. I had to re-state that I was not going to buy frames. After she took all of the measurements, and then entered them into the computer...I was hit with the price!! When I questioned $260 for one lens -I was told only THEN -"They only come in pairs". I don't condone deception. Therefore, I will NOT do business with Lens Crafters again. What a shame.....My initial impression was very good. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I would give them zero stars if possible. We went to update my daughters prescription we got the eye exam and got her glasses made in an hour and She could not see out of them. They told me it was normal and she needed to adjust. She still couldn't see so we went the next day. THEY GAVE MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER BIFOCALS. She got them in the mail and she was complaining of horrible migraines. I called and asked what to do, they told me my 17 year old daughter was just suppose to "deal" with blinding headaches and come back in two weeks. I decided to try Lenscrafters after my beloved eye doctor of 36 years passed away, and I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Solomon fit me with monovision contacts and bifocal glasses expertly. The staff guided me in picking out the correct frames for my high index prescription, and offered as much honest input as I wanted regarding frame choices. They made the process fun and gave me confidence that I was making the right choice. Buying glasses online is not an option for me -- I return about 75% of online purchases because you just don't know exactly what you are buying. I don't want to buy a pair of glasses that I can't return. If I go to a physical optometrist, I know they can follow up with me until I am satisfied. read more
