I was extremely impressed with the images Elizabeth took of me. And that's saying a LOT; I'm difficult to please.

I called Soiree and lucky me, they were still free for Labor Day weekend. I talked to Molli and Krissa, and they were able to lower their rate (since I picked a venue they knew well) that was within my wedding budget. They offer a great variety of services, and had I known sooner that planning a wedding required so much work, I would have totally hired them to do the whole thing from the start. Since I'm not local, most of our "meetings" and information exchange was done over the phone and via email (yay for modern technology). Krissa was able to coordinate and effectively handle all the follow ups and pointed out a lot of details that I had totally either forgotten or not known about. She was available to discuss my last minute changes and ideas and make recommendations for our wedding. Our wedding was a complete success. Most people have told me it's been one of the best weddings they've been to (definitely ranking high on the "best wedding food" list as well). I'm glad everyone had such a great time - and I know it wouldn't have run as smoothly if I hadn't hired Soiree. Even the smallest weddings require a lot of planning, and as a bride on the big day, there are many other things to be pretty and dolled up for - no need to worry with a great wedding coordinator!

I'm glad we hired them and I'm glad we spent the money to have a coordinator to take care of the day so none of us had to! The reason they don't get 5 stars is that the actual day-of, I had a hard time finding the coordinator. I was the bride, I was busy, obviously, but people kept coming to me with questions. Vendors, people involved in the wedding. I kept having to tell them "please find the coordinator." I didn't want to be involved in any of the logistics on that day, which is why we hired Soiree. It was frustrating having to tell so many different people involved to do this and that really irritated me. I also felt like I never saw the coordinator. I wanted someone to be on top of the timeline and coming to tell us when we needed to be somewhere for something (example: is it time to do the first look pictures, etc?). But that never really happened. I realize that she was busy coordinator all the behind the scenes stuff that I wasn't involved in, but some guidance would have been nice. I don't regret hiring Soiree but I do wish that they had been a little more accessible on that day.

Knowing that this was going to be one of the most important days in our lives, we did a lot of homework and interviewed several planners. In addition to experience and strong references, the single most important factor to us was chemistry. Warm and genuinely caring, we connected with Carisa from the start and knew we didn't want to entrust our wedding to anyone else. The other factors we considered: 1) clear, reliable communication skills - including the ability to listen and really understand our vision and intention for the event; 2) strong organizational skills and follow-through; 3) established relationships with the best vendors; 4) clear design inspiration and passion; and 5) a game-day MVP who calmly directs the show behind the scenes and makes everything run smoothly. Carisa delivered on every criteria, and, in fact, exceeded our high expectations. It has now been over a year since our special day, and we still get compliments from our guests who tell us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! The whole experience was truly joyous and magical, and Carisa and the entire Adornment Events team were essential in making our dream a reality. The financial investment in hiring Carisa and her A-team to seamlessly orchestrate our big day was worth every penny, and we could not have done it without them. We cannot recommend Carisa and Adornment Events highly enough!!!

We wanted an event that brought our community and family together to celebrate love, bikes, and camping in the stunning Columbia River Gorge, and it felt like Emee truly understood what was important to us from the start. There were so many tiny details she caught and helped us navigate. I particularly appreciated her calm support when we had a potential catering issue just three days before the wedding. She talked me off the ledge of worry and was willing to think through a full backup plan with me, before the issue resolved on its own. There were countless other instances of Emee handling things on the day of the wedding that let me, my husband, and our family just enjoy our time together. They were thorough, prompt, professional, and good at creatively solving problems as they arose. I would recommend EJP Events to anyone who is planning a large event - the experience was wonderful and my staff colleagues, supporters, and donors were all very impressed with the quality of our event. Emee and her team had great staffing at the event and skillfully coordinated all of our many shifting logistics for months leading up to the event. When we encountered obstacles, they handled them. When we needed to make changes, they cheerfully accommodated them. EJP has a "Can-do" attitude and they're both pragmatic and realistic about setting expectations while finding a way to get everything done. I'm so glad that we worked with EJP and they're at the top of my list for event planning in the future.

Wasn't always like that; they had been a reputable fixture to the neighborhood for decades, which those who live and work nearby valued. A good, well maintained selection of equipment that the staff was knowledgeable with, together with business practices that empasized service, made them a welcome asset worthy of repeat customers. Then something changed. Gone was the service and maintenance, in came ... something else. Good Riddance.

When you are renting tools for half a day transportation time is a factor. Most tool rental places…read morewill have similar selections. So go to the nearest. That meets your needs. But this review goes to the root of tools. There is a romanticism, and it is deserved, about tools. One romanticism are tools used by, and inherited from, great (great, great) grandparents. In that era, American tools were made in, well, America. Same for most countries, respectively. Some are my most prized possessions. Forward to Japanese tools, Taiwan tools and Chinese tools. By the way, there are some fine German tools about. And there is a whole galaxy of European stationary power tools. Meanwhile we have consumer values and the clean and new aesthetic. Now, new is all. Shiny. And today is buy brand, not buy to pass on to generations, homes, art, clothes, furniture - and tools. Brand replaces family values. In this context, we are talking tools, rented. You are renting, not passing on, or using extensively. You can go to another big box rental and get a clean branded machine. In rental, the durability and reliability of makers does not matter. If it fails, return for credit! Or you can buy failure-prone tools from China. Think Chicago Tools at Harbor Freight. I have noticed some contractors buy tools intent on destroying them in the warranty period or losing them - a perfect option in that inexpensive tools "business model is disposable". Just build it into the cost structure. But think, every material object-tool takes resources and carbon to make. Why landfill it or destroy after minimal use? Immoral, in my view, to buy it, trash it and landfill it. Another option is to buy used durable and reliable brand tools on the secondary market. Or if you use a tool often, or desire to pass it through generations, buy durable, reliable, quality. But if you need a tool infrequently or once upon a time, rent it! Yes, Barbur tools for rent are, well, well used. But they are not there for ego-stroking new and shiny, they are there to do a job. And yes, this rental place buys a tool and runs it into the ground. But if it works for you in the SW hood, I say go for it. Barbur rental has party supplies, think weddings; and tools. They have many of their items in an online list, but it is always a good idea to tour the yard and the tool room and get their paper list. Hey, you might find something you did not know you needed to rent, or that you might need in the future! I've mainly rented jackhammers and hammer drills with bits. I would suggest that you double check the bit chucks up before you leave. I rented a demolition hammer only to discover the bit had been peened out of usability on the chuck side. If it's your own tool, abuse it, whatever, but don't do that otherwise. And don't do to a rental tool. They did refund my money on that problem. I would say that barbur does not have the shiny, but limited selection, power tools the big box does. They have old, well used tools, to do your job. I know my tools, and know when Barbur is better than other options. You want to get the job done, not get your shiny ego massaged. So suggest know your tools and rent wisely when it is the best option.. Barbur does go down in the Portland Museum of Oddities list. The owner keeps his collection of big game head trophies on the wall. I asked, they don't rent them, but if you were a set decorator for a major film or series, maybe they would! Medium size tool and party rental shop with fine service. Worth engaging if you are in the 'hood, know your tools and check function before renting, Just don't mix tools and parties! Demolition hammers - do not bring to weddings!

We booked the Millions of Peaches option, so we really got to know Cindy through the 12 months of preparation for our wedding. She is kind, talented, and now a dear friend! Cindy kept us informed on every COVID-19 update and how we could pivot our wedding to safely celebrate in the guidelines. Our wedding was a complete build-out at a private residence which required a lot of planning and organization. Cindy arranged multiple site visits with our other vendors and was always supportive of our vision above all else. I cannot state enough how organized Cindy is, from budget spreadsheets and RSVP tracking to seating charts and timelines; our other wedding vendors loved working with her! During the week of our wedding, she was on site every day overseeing set-up and she ran the best wedding rehearsal I have ever been a part of! On our wedding day, she arrived six hours before the ceremony to do day-of set up and stayed hours after the guests had left to clean up... outstanding! She even helped make sure we filled out the marriage license correctly. It was pure joy to see our wedding vision realized and everything went so smoothly because Cindy was always working in the background! I truly believe we would not have had a better experience with anyone else, and if we had to do it all over, I would pick Peachy Keen Coordination every time!

Untraditional couple, family drama, pandemic hangups and curveballs, rain for the first time in months during wedding week - our wedding had it all, and Cindy handled it seamlessly by being proactive and anticipating needs and changes before they became problems. I was busy with medical school, but she understood my intentions, personality, and vision and took every burden off my shoulders she could during the process. She is highly organized, compassionate, smart, direct, and just fun to talk with. She knew when to clue me in and when to handle it herself, and she gave me honest opinions on my vendors that truly helped me select the best team. Day before and day of, she coordinated everything flawlessly. Let me tell you right now- there is a LOT more than you think to be done wedding week and you will have so much more time to just enjoy if you hire Cindy. Cindy is a true pro in the PNW wedding industry and I highly recommend she be your first investment for your wedding.
