Paul Baynes was very approachable and always responded quickly to emails and promptly returned my phone calls. The price was very competitive cheaper than my high street solicitor and cheaper than the solicitor my Estate Agent tried to force me into using (Countrywide Conveyancing Services the people buying my house ended up using these and they were a nightmare). Paul managed to exchange contracts in a timely manner despite my buyer's solicitors being incompetent; spending a lot of time chasing them and my Estate Agent to try and get them to keep moving things forward. On the day of the completion (a Monday), I was worried that my buyer's solicitors would hold things up, but Paul was straight onto them at 9:00 in the morning and had managed to complete by 11:00am, much to my pleasant surprise. Recently Completed on a house, with Leigh Bailey Solicitors, and found the entire service pitiful. If you take away the snail-pace correspondence and the patronising tone of the staff, your left with nothing to do but sit around a watch as completion date after completion date goes passing by. I have, and my parents have bought many houses with numerous different solicitors, and I found that these were by far the most lazy and idle out them all. Got the generic response after I dared to ask why I had been delayed, that it wasn't her job to chase documents up or to let me know that they needed to chase up, I think Leigh Bailey Solicitors only works with mind readers. Would not use again, the price is a little above market average but the service and quality of work is rock bottom, if your buying a house on stilts in Papua New Guinea, then maybe give these guys a try, but if your buying a house in the UK, avoid these lying, dishonest, patronising Firm as you are likely to feel very disappointed and very let down. read more

Due to a convincing pack of lies from the original so called Buyer of my previous property I was left in the lurch when at the very last minute they pulled out. Big problem as I had committed to a fixed short term rental of a stop gap property. I suppose I should count myself lucky as my Estate Agent actually found me a genuine buyer about 2 weeks later but the clock was already ticking on my rental property. Fortunately I was using Leigh Bailey Solicitors, and in particular Paul Baynes for my conveyancing. Paul was great in not only putting my buyer's solicitor under pressure for a speedy Completion of Sale but came up trumps again a few weeks later when we purchased our new home. The conveyancing for purchase was undertaken in less than 5 weeks, amazing as this took place over the Xmas/New Year period of 2012. You can guess whether Paul wrote these reviews or not based on the style of the emails and likelihood that 3 separate people would search out the same place to leave such an overly enthusiastic review, namedropping Paul repeatedly and all with the same writing style. Do not deal with these guys, they are unresponsive, dishonest and the head of conveyancing Paul Baynes is worth avoiding as he is very dishonest and will try and get the best of you (and take your money) if he can. One of the worst solictos i have ever dealt with. utter incompetance through out. If you forget the fact that the solcitor went on holiday when completion was supposed to happen without bothering to tell anyone, if you forget the fact that they spend half there time leaving administrators and assitants to do mess you around.there still pretty poor. I had 3 people from leigh bailey solicitors tell me different things that non of which were true. i would not reccomend them if there were the only solicitors left in the world, if you want to overpay for an awful service then by all means use leigh bailey read more

I found this Company via Google and initially they talked a good game. However, throughout the purchase cycle they have been totally incompetent and are incapable of 2-way communication. They do not respond to emails, letters or phone calls. Before I realised how useless they were I even recommended them to someone else..they had a similar experience! Yes, I saved a few quid, but this did not justify the hassle. Please pay a little more and get a professional service. read more
