The second time, some of my friends got there first and were unable to get inside. I believe there were 3 guys and 4 girls. The staff said that they were having a private event. My 2 girl friends and I tried entering later that night and we were able to get in, so that means they were just lying about having a private event. The music wasn't even good. We left and went to HI Life and had a better night there. Even if you split into smaller groups, you would still have a hard time getting in especially if you are male.

The music ranges from 80s, 90s pop to house, simple, yet easy to dance to and not so loud that it's hard to talk to your friends. The drinks are a bit of a hit/miss, especially the cocktails but I find this quite natural for a bar/club here in Stuttgart. Since it's right next to a club, it can get pretty crowded, but not too much that it gets annoying. If you come during the weekdays, maybe a little early, the place is quite empty, which can be a good second stage for a light drink with some light music. The seating arrangements can be comfortable, as long as it doesn't get TOO crowded, which in that case, it's better to just stand up or dance. Very casual, comfortable, maybe a bit hipster even. Not too young, but not so old you feel like you are falling asleep. The bar also hosts mini concerts by bands from different cities and countries, which makes it fun to enjoy with a nice drink. Overall, I like Schocken and can't point my finger to anything extremely terrible. The hit/miss cocktails were the reason for the four stars.

The food reflects the vibe and I love it when everything in an establishment flows. They have a lounge upstairs I haven't been up there so I'm not sure how it looks. But the music is techno or house. They have body guards at the door and a small area for smoking. The food is amazing and the menu changes. I had a pasta and loved it but my favorite was the seafood risotto. It was perfectly made and my sorbet dessert was tasty also. I will definitely come back.

Also the food arrived cold and at different times to our table. They tried to make up for the issues with a free dessert etc. But at this price - you shouldn't be in that situation in the first place.
