The attorney made critical legal Errors in the matter which the attorney initially acknowledged and promised to address, correct and see through to finalizing the matter. The attorney pleaded for the opportunity to rectify the error, expressed a commitment to see it through, and asked to allow her time to do so. The attorney's errors, lead to years delay as well as positioning advantages, in the matter, to the other party. Initially the early willingness to assume responsibility and the promise to correct the mistakes, was appreciated. Stating increase of client base and lack of time for responsiveness, [on her part], this attorney withdrew from the matter entirely without resolving the issue or taking any substantive steps to remedy to correction and closure the error she had caused. Causing additional financial burden, in retaining a significant amount of the retainer. This abandonment occurred at a critical juncture, leaving the me to address the consequences on my own. In my view, this conduct reflects a lack of professional responsibility and commitment to client advocacy. I would not recommend this attorney to anyone seeking reliable, responsive or accountable legal representation. Professionalism means staying the course even when the work becomes difficult. And cleaning up your own mistakes. In this case, I did not see that level of commitment. I would advise others to proceed with caution and ensure they have clear expectations documented up front.
