At first I thought it was a nice business. BUT THEN I BOUGHT A CAR FROME THEM!!! Worst experience of my life complet scam and crap cars would say worst car lot in KC! just now DO NOT GO HERE! This was such an horrible experience. When I arrived at this place after being in contact with them for two weeks expressing to them that I want to purchase there 2005 Chevy Malibu. When I arrived at this place - Jhon the salesman was trying to work on the car. He asked me to start the car. The car would not start. He kept saying it needs a new battery. I'm not sure why they didn't fix that in the first place - when they knew I was coming. (Later I found out that a lot of used car salesman do this trick because when you connect the battery back to the car - it takes the car a little while to read the codes - meaning if there was anything wrong with the engine ,the engine light or etc would not show in the dashboard for a while.) I asked for Jhon to start the car - so that we could listen to the engine. Then I heard a rattle noise and asked what is that noise? Don (The owner) acted like he didn't know - then he says it the engine pipe. (Keep in mind they had both kept telling me "there is nothing wrong with the car") At this point Jhon and Don were telling me this is a great car, it doesn't have anything else wrong with the car. So, I believed they were telling the truth b/c I needed a car- Oh was, I soooooooo wrong. Literally - 15 minutes later after signing paperwork and leaving this dealership (I didn't even make it home yet) the car goes from 40mph and drastically drops to 0mph. All the codes popped up in the dashboard - indicating there was trouble with this vehicle. I was so terrified/scared b/c I was on the busiest street, a car almost ran into me, the hazard lights stopped working) Now, the car would not move at all. I called Legends Auto Ranch - and told them I just left your establishment and there car just stopped on me in the middle of the road.The woman on the phone acted like she didn't car. I asked her were they going to send a tow - she said "No". I couldn't believe that they weren't going to send a tow, knowing that I was stranded in the middle of the road . Next, I called a tow to take the car back to the dealership. Once I arrived, I told Don "Here is your car, it just stopped on me and I want my money back so that I can leave." Don kept refusing to give me my money back and kept saying it was the battery. Before I even left - Don told me he had put in a new battery since it was having issues when I got there. Also, Don refused to pay for the tow - he should have sent a tow in the first place to pick up the car. Don, Jhon, and the lady at the front desk were so rude, deceiving, and hurtful - they acted as if it was my fault the car stopped. They all kept telling me that the car was great. Literally while they are telling me that there is nothing wrong with the car. The car starts smoking (I have video as proof) I then told Don please give me my money back and I will leave and never come back. He refused again, then proceeded to call the police on me. Literally when the police arrived - the first thing the officer told me was - "this is not the first time they have been called for something like this - the officer told me to take Don to small claims court b/c this is not ok. The office then explained to me - that it is his property so I have to leave. That they can't do anything because they only handle criminal cases - but they did say this is a civil case and they suggest I move forward with a case. The officers called Don outside and asked him was he going to give me my money back - Don said he would mail me a check in the morning. I got my check almost a week later and he took $85.00 for the tow service (I never agreed to him taking any money for a tow) PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE AT ALL. They are scammers and liars - and sell cars knowing that they are not safe to drive. This was such a horrible experience. I pray that this post will save many people from heartache and pain. They are not good human beings - I wish I never interacted with these people. They are the definition of the saying "There are just some bad people in this world.". read more

You can always tell a good used car dealership by two things. 1. How the salesman treats you before you buy a car and 2. How they treat you afterwards. I am severely disappointed in Legends Auto Ranch on how they treated me and my husband when we went there to buy a used car for my teenage son. As a disabled female vet I am doing everything I can to stay afloat during Covid and I work hard for my money and my overtime, to constantly have to find time off to take care of things that they promised would get fixed. If you want to save yourself time from reading my long super irritating story- just take my advice and go get a used car from anywhere else. Honestly the first impression was great. Anthony was very upfront and helpful. After going to 6 other used car places we were really impressed with the way he handled himself. We were in luck! We found a car we liked and it had minor issues we could work with- 1. broken windshield 2. AC didn't blowout very cold air- 3. Gas tank area had a dent and I wanted to make sure it wasn't leaking gas and have the dent fixed so the gas tank doesn't get too much rust from the elements- All stuff Anthony said could easily be fixed by his guy and! the windshield guy would even come to us. What he did not mention until after we paid for the car was these were all things we had to get fixed ourselves through his third party person. He originally made it sound like we were supposed to leave the car there and pick up once all was done. but that was definitely not the case. The best part is about his third party fixer which we honestly were okay going to at first until we found out they aren't open during the weekend!!! Again not everyone owns a car dealership and comes and goes as they please- they work for a living. We were told the owner was suppose to come and explain all this to us after we bought the car, but he barely spoke to us. When it came to getting the windshield fixed he couldn't even have the courtesy to write the name, address and number of who we needed to call. He shouted it to us from behind a desk.... we had to ask to borrow a pen to write it down...But we took time off and got it fixed at two different locations until it was the dent repair time and neither of the places would pop the dent out for me. After spending a week of playing tag with the owner dogging my husbands call, i finally told them i would take it to Ford and they could pay me the 1,000 plus to fix. They again wanted us to bring the car back to the lot to have another person fix and again figure a way to leave work to pick this car up. We asked if they would please work with us and maybe drop the car off the lot somewhere so we could pick up after we both got off work but of course again- we have already paid for the car so they don't care about customer service after they have your money.. and I guess why should they? When we showed up apparently the owner forgot to get the car! When I asked where my car was at they all looked at me like I was crazy- I immediately walked outside and told the people there to leave as quick as possible as this place is horrible. They told me they already paid and I wished them good luck. Anthony came outside and said I'm calling the police- good I told him- 1st amendment rights, and you have possession of my car and won't tell me where it is at, pretty sure that's stealing, theft- then he said its due to trespassing- u can't call the cops on someone without actually telling them to leave set property first- he turns and looks at me and tells me to leave and as soon as he did we did- and still an HOUR LATER NO CAR! I wish there was a way to put no stars ...... I did purchase a car from there that I have had success with, although it looked as if it was under water. It still runs. My son purchased a car from there and on the 31st day was not able to bring it back. Of the first month of having the car, it may have been driven all of 10 days - partially due to my son working out of town and the rest of the time it was broken down at the lLegends Outlet and when the auto ranch was called they offered no assistance!!!! Piss poor customer service!! To think, my son went there because we had a good experience with them. The car had lights appear on the dashboard within hours of parking at home. There was a leak, he had not driven the car for two weeks as he was working out of town. He asked for their assistance - I think on he spoke with Anthony, who was absolutely no help. He is a young man excited to buy his first car on his own without his parents help and he got taken advantage of buy a snake and oil car salesman. I believe in relationships and keeping them healthy, I have 4 more kids that will be driving, 3 nephews and my mom needs a beater when she comes- I will definitely suggest finding another small dealership to do business with, Legends Auto Ranch is not a stand up place, I should have really looked at and digested the other reviews before going on my own experience. From what I see a good experience is a fluke!!! So now my son has a 4,000 piece of junk that he still has to pay for and they assured him that they put it on our insurance and that isn't done either!!!! It's a shame that they treat people like this I won't nor will I suggest to any of my friends to get a car from there!! A blind deaf mute would be more honest !!!!! I recently left a good review while still at the dealership, right after signing for our car. A 2011 Dodge Avenger, for "$4900". The car buying experience was nice Benny was very kind and did not push other cars on to us. While signing the paperwork the cost had went up to over $8000 because of a warranty the bank wanted us to have?? At least that is what was told to us. All said and done with taxes and interest the car is a little over $11,000. That's where we should have walked away. But we needed a car. 9 days after purchasing the car it died while my husband was driving it to work. He was able to limp it back close to our apartment. We had to push it the 200 ft that was left at 4 am. My husband stopped by the dealership who gave him the phone number for the warranty information. We took it to our trusted mechanic at Dashers Garage in Leavenworth. Turns out the alternator was bad which killed the battery and also some belt was bad. The warranty covered the alternator but we are still out of pocket $441.85, for the tow and replacement of the battery and the belt. read more

They also told her it was a Kansas title, even said so online, but we picked it up and it's a Missouri title. WARNING! do NOT buy from here... This place states they only allow a test drive right turns only, basically around the block. YOU the buyer are not allowed to take the vehicle at your leisure test drive, or how you feel comfortable with. They must ride with you and you must follow their route. You are literally on the highway a few seconds before they want you to turn right and take a 40 MPH zone take the next right at 35 MPH zone. Their claim is the insurance only allows a certain route, I checked with several insurance companies including my friend who owns and operates a car lot and says this is BS! and usually means they are trying to hide something both him and the insurance companies state this is just not true. I even contracted my insurance agent. and basically any car i sit my butt into in a "test drive" matter with the intent on possible purchase, covers me and the vehicle I am driving during that test drive, anywhere I go. ANYONE with a brain would never buy a car from a dealer you couldn't drive the route you wanted. I normally don't write reviews but this place is all wrong to many RED flags. sure if you want a cheap car you could find one here. but honestly you could go else where , just not to far down the road on K32 , that same day I test drove another car, They handed me the keys. just asked that i be back within 30 minutes and left me at my leisure, i was able to take on a couple of highways and back roads.. to "TEST" the suspension and they never blinked an eye. Asked how my drive was, etc.. THIS PLACE however, treats you like you are a thief the moment you walk onto the property. Funny that day I had $1500 to put down or as a hold for that particular vehicle. But I WILL Never buy from there, I DO NOT recommend buying from there.. listen, watch and pay attention. the tires are flat, car starts up and smokes a bit, or starts and and immediately makes noise.. these are red flags. If I could leave no stars I would. I bought this car on the 4th of March...turned around not even 24 hours later having issues with the car. I parked the car at their OWN shop DNZ Auto repair because I did not want any other issues to arise as I had the vehicle. Within 24 hrs of having the car and many issues arising I was in contact with the dealership, told them I was not comfortable with this car and would like to return the vehicle. They wanted their shop to look at it first, okay fine. Monday rolls around they look at it...Tuesdays phone call consisted of nothing is wrong with the vehicle. Okay fine. I take it to the dodge dealership for a second opinion, they came back with over $5,000 worth of work that was needing to be done. Hansen Automotive has NO intentions of correcting this issue or taking the car back EVEN though my lender said that they are okay with me returning the vehicle. The legends people were wonderful to work with BUT that is where it ends! I purchased 2 vehicles in a package deal from them and received the 3 month 3000 mile warranty. I purchased a 2007 Pontiac G6 for my wife and paid cash. I took a large loan and bought an 05 F250 6.0 diesel. now the diesel ran great until Monday the 9th and it started blowing white smoke. I called them and they told me to take it to any licensed dealer because it was under warranty which I did. So the EGR valve is bad and this is NOT covered under the warranty. Now I have a 1636.59 bill if I want it fixed. I used my entire tax return and my saving to buy these vehicles and when I talked to the receptionist I was told that the owner would give me 10% or 136$ towards the fixing and that was all, so sorry for your truck but we cannot help you further. The warranty company (ASC Warranty out of Florida)has 100's of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. I have never bought a used vehicle and I will NEVER buy a vehicle there again. IF you buy here because it is cheap you better rethink it. I guess its my bad luck that I bought a lemon off the lot but yes I in good faith got screwed and have to scramble for money to get it out of the shop. The car I bought was good quality, reasonably priced and they were willing to work with my rough credit history. It is a no-frills dealership, so if you are looking for a full service experience, you should go to a full service dealer. I purchased a vehicle from this place of business 2 months ago and have only had it in my possession for a total of 14 days due to numerous large issues with the engine overheating, the motor mount being bad, the compressor coils needing replaced, and today I was informed by their recommended mechanic that the transmission needs work. I paid "Excellent" condition used car value for a disaster of a vehicle. I asked for a refund on the vehicle 3 weeks after purchase due to it not being in my possession for more than 4 days before it started having major issues. I was informed that there are no refunds, regardless of the situation. They tried to "make it right" by having me test drive another vehicle that began smoking during the test drive. I'm now stuck with an overpriced vehicle that doesn't drive. Being a single mom and working 35 miles from home this has been a nightmare. The other thing I want to mention is that they purchased this vehicle from CarMax. I was not aware of this fact until I picked up the title 4 weeks after purchase, and that would have been nice to know up front since CarMax stands by their vehicles that they rehab and resell. If CarMax wasn't willing to sell this on their lot, it speaks volumes. read more
