Kuirky! Yes, with a…read more"K" instead of a "Q" in keeping with the name of this place! Folks not from Highlands County might call Frostproof the end of the world. This place is a few miles outside of town and truly fell off the edge of the end of the world. The chances of you stopping in as you drive by to give it a try are about zero. It's clearly a local's place. I stopped by around lunchtime and walked into a "kuriky" combination of low-end convenience store, low-end sub shop and dive bar. The store is clearly focused on grabbing a six pack and a bag of snacks and maybe a smoke. Other than that, not so much. The sub menu is a pale imitation of the one posted here three years ago. There are many less choices. I had a roast beef sub with two choices of cheese and very few choices of veges and dressings. It was served on an ice-cold roll. It was the kind of food I call fuel. Filling but that's it! The small dive bar was more divey than most and was very dark. I was the only one there. The saving grace of my visit was the wonderful manager/bartender! This lady was a delightful conversationalist! I munched on my meh sub and washed it down with a bottle of Corona for less than $10. You really need to manage your expectations here. Not only did they have a large selection of product that you would expect at a "cards and collectible shop", but they also had a snack bar. My husband gravitated towards the MTG and Pokemon cards, while I was mesmerized by the dice and dice accessories. My husband also made a comment that he was surprised how wonderful the store smelled because spaces where "nerds" hang out, tend to get a bad reputation when it comes to smells. Good smells, good vibes and a good selection of products makes for a stand out hobby shop that we will be returning to before we leave (as well as if we ever come back to the area). A friendly and not pushy salesperson approached within a minute. Like the great customer that I am I had my filters ready to narrow down my choices. No leather, no sleeper sofa, no wildflower prints etc., etc. I specifically mentioned I didn't want any prints of wild naked women on my sofa. After she stopped laughing my salesperson said she thought she could avoid that! After about twenty minutes a found my perfect sofa. Not bad! I was told it need to be ordered and would be delivered on July 19th. I paid and was out the door and smiling in thirty minutes. On July 18th I received the delivery call and agreed to the delivery window. The guys arrived on time and the delivery was perfect. They removed my old sofa for a small fee. So what can I say. I was completely satisfied and not for the first time! I'll be back!
