Berschler & Shenberg Funeral Chapels

Berschler & Shenberg Funeral Chapels

Everything I stated in my previous review is the absolute truth. It was almost 3 hours before…read moreHoward Shenberg collected my wife's body, NOT the one hour Howard claims. My neighbor (Steve Grossman) who lives across the street from me sat with me the entire time and recalls this quite well. Also, Howard rushed back into my house after loading the hearse and proceeded to show me a large catalog of photos of coffins. I did not ask him to do this. My neighbor, Steve, remembers this clearly, also. He says he kept shaking his head no, but that I was transfixed on the photos and did not see that. Howard never discussed with me less expensive alternatives such as creation. (Locustwood Memorial Park has a Jewish Mausoleum next to my wife's grave). The next day I called Howard and told him I wanted to puchased his least expensive coffin. During that call he asked me to have a check for full payment on Tuesday, the day of the graveside service. My daughter, had traveled from Rochester, NY to be with me. She remembers quite well my saying on the phone, "look Howard, I have one of the highest credit ratings on earth, but I cannot obtain over $11,000. dollars that quickly. At that point he relented, and agreed to accept a check for half on Tuesday and the rest a week or two later. Howard charged me for a shroud, NEVER explaining to me she could be buried in hear own street clothing. He charged me for cosmetology, then never offered that I give her a final kiss goodbye by briefly lifting the coffin lid. (To this day, I'm not even certain she was in that coffin). Shortly after the graveside service, I purchased an identical prepaid funeral for myself for $9,000. The reason I never expressed any dissatisfaction to Howard was that my wife passed away suddenly and unexpectedly and I was in such a profound state of grief that I did not understand the various ways Howard was taking advantage of me. I want to share all this with others to let them know they should be wary of Howard. He seems very friendly on the surface, but his primary goal is to maximize his profits. Jerry Goldstein.

This casual event can be held at an outside venue or in the funeral home. The program is customizable, often including music, dancing, hobby displays, and a tribute video that captures the essence of the life of the deceased. Of course, if conventional funeral options bring the nostalgia and closure you are craving, you can select a viewing with a funeral service, ending with a graveside ceremony. Direct cremations are the most affordable option, allowing you to skip all of the costs of planning a memorial service. Or you can pair a cremation with a memorial ceremony and let your friends and family pay their respects.

Such was the case recently when a friend of ours held a beautiful service for her mother here. The building and decor is low key and modern, clean, and non-denominational. We especially loved the complimentary "thank you" provided by the home - forget me not seeds to plant in honor of the loved one. How absolutely wonderful. The room the service was held in was roomy and comfortable. Kudos for making what could have been a very sad day one that was filled with pure love.

Jen, who was our advisor, went over and above what I thought was her responsibility as far as making the day run smoothly she basically did everything for us, including help us with the flowers, a video montage that we had up there with the music right down to what would happen at the cemetery I hope I never have to plan anything like this again but if I do, I definitely would use Mt. Laurel home for funerals took all the stress out of it and made us feel so welcomed ! It was a military funeral so there's a lot more details involved and they just helped everything go by smoothly. Again, thank you for making this most horrible time of our lives a little bit easier to bare !
