This is a gingerbread shop. They sell it in plastic packages and tins, plain or with chocolate or…read moresugar, but they pretty much just sell gingerbread. Their version of gingerbread is more like a cookie than bread but it's not hard like American gingerbread cookies. It's very sticky and kind of chewy, almost like the consistency of a health bar. The woman behind the counter was relatively nice but there wasn't much for her to say. There are only a few varieties of gingerbread and either you're going to buy some gingerbread or you're not. I decided to get the plain variety. I think it cost 6 euros for 5 cookies but I may be wrong. The flavor of the gingerbread is pretty mild, it's not going to give you a punch of ginger or cinnamon or other spices. It's a bit sweet and there's some texture from finely diced nuts. Ultimately, I thought it was disappointing and not something I would go out of my way for.

We purchased packages that had the title of Ingwer-Stabchen thinking there might be a ginger flavor with tteh chocolate. Unfortunately, whenever everyone bit into one of the chocolate sticks they immediately through the rest away. It is absolutely horrible and I can't believe anyone who is aware of what it is, purchases it. It tastes like soap with a hot pepper spice. There is no chocolate taste at all. In the future, to be safe, I will ask to sample a candy before purchase. And the clerk at the time was not friendly either. Sad because it is a cute little shop.

This is a very small cute shop, where you can get a lot of chocolate (obviously) and drink some hot…read morechocolate while you decide which bar/truffle you will take home. They offer a pretty good variety of flavors for the hot chocolate and the staff is very helpful and kind. I've choose one with 70% dark chocolate (so special flavor, just chocolate) and had two pieces of chocolate candy with it .... litte chocolate overload, but delicious.
