A perfect day, nice breeze and beautiful blue sky. Here are training camp the staff takes excellent care of the guests. Free sun block and water is provided, either bring your own bottle to refill or pick up a free bottle courtesy of Citizen's Energy Group. Training camp is an entertainment bargain. Parking is only $10 and camp is $5 admission. Food and drinks available, and plenty of activities for kids. Bring the family and enjoy.

As someone new to the Westfield area, I thought this was pretty cool and kind of surprising. Although I'm not really into sports unless I'm feeling 22-but have visited the campus a couple times now for various reasons like the Shipshewana Flea Market, "Whale of a Sale" (a large, upscale children's consignment event) and most recently "Winter Fest" presented by Westfield Youth Sports and "Brought to you by Birdies," the mini golf place and bar/restaurant in Westfield. Winter Fest was a fun and free event for locals inside the campus to promote sports enrichment in the community. Westfield residents who signed up received tickets for $15 worth of food (per person) at the cafeteria. This was quite generous of them! Chik-fil-A was also there with a booth giving out merch and gift cards for meals. The cafeteria and adult bar area are well maintained, shiny and new. The indoor field is clean and beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. There were vendors offering to match donations for youth sports fundraisers and local businesses advertising their products. They had tons of inflatables--even one for adults too. It was a great experience and I look forward to attending other events at Grand Park. I found out after Winter Fest that there had also been a Health and Wellness expo that same day and wished I had known about it sooner with companies like Pure Barre being there. Next year, I'll be keeping an eye out for that event and others like it.

Maplelawn Farmstead is a historic 1930's farm in Zionsville that has been preserved for education…read moreand use by the community. The farm is the only "park" that operated totally by volunteers in Zionsville. The property dates back to the early 1800's. One of the barns was built in the 1880's. The house and outbuildings were built 1925-1930's. The property has had several owners. Alfred and Elmira Scott bought the property in 1900 and built the home. The property stayed in the Scott family for over 100 years. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home is filled with period furniture and artifacts that reflect farm life in the 1920's. A small garden is maintained during the growing season and dahlias surround the house. Events are hosted at the farm throughout the year. Currently, a series of free classic movies are scheduled. In October, the bars are decorated for a Halloween event and fundraiser. The barn can be reserved for private events or photo background. I enjoy meeting and picnicking with friends at the farm. There are remarkable sunsets to view in the evenings. The website for the farm contains several interesting videos describing the history of the architecture and farm. Limited parking is available on the farm. Certain areas are not handicapped accessible as the grounds and buildings have not been updated. There is no charge to visit the farm but donations are accepted.

They do not answer their phones and their policy says you must talk to the office for a cancellation. I called several days with no ability to speak with anyone. We did however book our tubing trip for the correct day. When we arrived we tried kindly explaining to the woman our situation. She was immediately combative and argumentative. She immediately went in defense mode. It was incredibly unprofessional and abrasive. We understand we made a mistake however we didn't deserve to be treated that way. Naturally we firmly and persistently argued back as we were approached in such a manner. Ultimately she did end up refunding us (allegedly - we did not receive it yet. But did get confirmation email we were refunded) but it was after a long awkward argument for really no reason. If the woman at the front office was polite from the get go we would have had a much better experience. The gentlemen who ran the tubing, said his name was Kim. He was very kind and professional. I would give this place another go because of his efforts in trying to make the situation more comfortable.

You can select what you want on a menu card and put it on the door before bed. On weekends, you have voucher for Auberge (the very good french restaurant attached). I called Aloha Taxi and Floyd said he could pick us up in about 20 minutes. Floyd arrived and helped us load our luggage into his car and helped my 90+ year old parents into his car. He drove us to the Hampton Inn and gave us valuable information for our one night stay in Lebanon. Later that evening we called Aloha Taxi to take my brother and myself to Indianapolis Airport to rent a car. Floyd was so pleasant to travel with. He showed us where to return our rental car and again gave us valuable information about leaving the airport in our rental and returning to Lebanon, Indiana. I am so grateful for Floyd and his ability to make my parents feel at ease and safe after being stuck on the side of a very busy highway and for all the information he gave us to help get us back on our way.
