You can tell the teachers really enjoy their jobs and it makes for an amazing environment for the kids. They don't coddle them, but are cognizant of each of their individual personalities and needs. On top of all that, they are actually learning things too :) I can't speak for the full time program, but if it is anything like the half-day it is an amazing place for kids.

After a full year at a wonderful daycare, I can confidently say that I believe Abiding Love…read moreLutheran is a substandard place to send your children. Here's why: Good daycares look like this: 1) happy, thriving kids, 2) administrators who puts kids and families first, 3) professional and communicative teachers, and 4) an open and welcoming environment. Bad daycares look like this: 1) kids who don't want to go to school or kids who are anxious when they get home from school, 2) administrators who put the interest of the institution before children and families, 3) teachers who are afraid to communicate with parents because the administration institutes such harsh parameters, and 4) classrooms with closed doors, restrictive timeframes, and zero lesson plans/schedules/weekly or monthly newsletters. If you've guessed that I'm describing Abiding Love in the third paragraph...you would be correct. Do yourself a favor. Avoid this place at all costs. Even if the administration has changed, I would guess the culture here is still toxic. The church's pastor and board do little to nothing, in my opinion, to provide oversight or a layer of accountability here.

My family loves CitySchool! It's been the best support to my family this past year. This is my…read moredaughter's second year there, she attended Pre-K with Ms. Carson and Mrs. Zaunbrecher. On the last day of school last year, I lost my job and I was devastated. The first thought that crossed my mind was I wouldn't be able to send my daughter for another year because there was no way we would be able to afford tuition. And actually, we were already receiving a 50% discount. This was devastating for a plethora of reasons. One, I was desperate to have my child keep receiving a Christ centered education AND, I was so scared to lose touch with the community that we had built over the past year. So with a heavy heart I went to Karon (the Director) and Laura (Director of Community Engagemen) and told them we needed to unenroll my daughter from attending the next (THIS YEAR 24-25). The first thing they said was not, ok lets get her unenrolled but: We're so sorry this happened - do NOT unenroll her. It is more important for her to have this Christ centered education than it is for you to worry about how you will pay for it. We WILL work this out. And also, how else can we support you? They will forever have my heart for how they handled this. I also love it for the fruits I see taking root in my daughter. Conflict resolution, spiritual and emotional character development. They see the child as a whole and fully formed person and they nurture them. The community is just, beautiful and kind and loving and SAFE and everything I really wanted/needed as a child. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! Love, The Horning Family

While searching for new childcare for her and our one year old son after our old daycare closed due to Covid, we were so incredibly lucky to come across ABCDee. Alison is very communicative and always has the kids best interests at heart. The center is clean, safe, and the staff is incredible and very loving of all the children. They provide meals, diapers, and wipes, which really takes some of the stress off of childcare. They use the Brightwheel app, so we always get pictures of the kids throughout the day, as well as messages and questions about anything going on. I toured multiple places around Austin, and none of them fit the bill. When we toured ABCDee, both my partner and I left teary eyed, we felt such a huge relief feeling confident about where we were sending her everyday. Now, a year later and it wasn't a honeymoon phase.
