I have absolutely no idea how they make this work but it was a sight to behold & I kid you not... The diamond SPINS FREELY in its setting! The designer is Gebrüder Schaffrath & you can read about it here! http://www.gebrueder-schaffrath.de/Englisch/collections/libert Inside the shop, as we were browsing the newest line of sparklie baubles, we happened upon a display in the back of the shop that housed the most exquisite estate pieces - had no idea that this place worked w/ antiques! Saw the loveliest opal & sapphire ring & we were advised it came from the 1950s but that was really all they could tell us about the piece - but it was all I needed to know because I loved it from the moment I put it on my finger I finally found my cocktail ring for the special event we had coming up! All I can tell you is.....Eric Farries is a *MASTER* designer!…read more At the recommendation of a friend, the BF contacted Schmuck-Galerie to see about getting a very special ring made for me These people do custom work but they also carry their own line of originally-designed pieces that are very much worth checking out! Working in silver, gold & platinum, they have designs & price-points for every budget & no job is too small (or large, as the case may be). Communication throughout each build process has been extraordinary - emails, pics, phone calls - Eric is very consultative and offers his suggestions while taking into account what we are asking for & the results could not have been better Ended up that BF had 2 pieces made here & they are each the most well-crafted, well thought-out, detailed piece of jewelery I could have dreamed The 1st piece with which a certain "question" was presented, was a sweet Tanzanite ring - this ring has interwoven bands to symbolize our lives intertwining & is also shaped like a heart in a variety of ways....the open sides each reference half of a heart & the ring itself is shaped like a heart (see pic) This was to be my "Travel Ring". BF popped THE question in Paris but my diamond wasn't ready so he & Eric conceived, designed, & crafted this ring to use on our special night & for me to use when I want to wear a symbol of our commitment but may not be in a situation where it would be smart to tout a big fat diamond For the diamond.....we wanted an extremely intricate & complex pattern, set in platinum w/ micro-pave - what we got back was perfection. Having only a few pictures to work off of, Eric replicated the ring we wanted & I dare say it is even better than the original Next up is the wedding band & can't wait to see what it looks like!

You'll find modern, unique concepts & there were quite a number of pieces I found most appealing In particular, they crafted a variety of heart-necklaces - in iron & 18K gold as well - there are large & smaller hearts. There was 1 of the larger iron hearts that particularly caught my attention b/c the spun iron threads that made the heart was all 1 piece. The chain part of the necklace was integrated into the heart so it was 1 huge piece - really cool! And if that weren't enough, there were scattered diamonds throughout the heart to give it a bit of sparkle We also looked at the sweetest green tourmaline ring - it was in this wide band of gold & the stone was surrounded on 2 sides w/ champagne diamonds - I can definitely see myself wearing this piece! Mom couldn't resist their sterling silver Butterfly Ring - this butterfly had gold tones spiking through the middle & a sweet little amethyst for its body What made this ring so cool however, was that these rings are like charms - the top of the ring is interchangeable w/ other "charms".....and these charms also can serve as pendants. There are loops through which to string a necklace - brilliant! Overall, have to say we had a fabulous first impression at Greweng & can't wait to come back!
