Second, they were at my rescue when I found out kind of last minute that my dog needed a Leptospirosis Vaccine as required by a boarding outfit in Hot Springs, Arkansas for our vacation trip. My vet (Dal Paso Animal Clinic) also here in Hobbs, New Mexico, doesn't include the Lepto or offer it separately. Hobbs Animal Clinic would not pick up the phone when I called. And the only other place I called before Great Plains was Double J. Their price was I think $80 for the vaccine and $27 for a required examination - or maybe I have it backwards, but I think I have it right. PLUS, Double J didn't have an appointment available for my dog for another week - that would have been WHILE we were in Arkansas. Great Plains answered right away. They did need me to make an appointment, but it was the same day - just later that afternoon plus they did not charge for an exam. My dog's shot was $42 and so worth it because she was a great traveler. All of the ladies who work here are so nice and understanding. I finally saw Dr. Kuitu for a split second. He has seemingly only aged a little since I last saw him 20 years ago.

They took her in and kept her overnight. The next evening a person called (not a veterinarian) and said she had pancreatitis and they were treating her. They end up keeping her for 3 days and said she was doing well and was ready to come home, we picked her up and she could barely walk, her belly was even bigger than when we dropped her off, she was still not eating or using the bathroom. They charged us $1600.00 I hope she is able to make through the night so we can get her to an actual veterinarian tomorrow. I will never take another one of my animals to that place again. What a joke.

They are the most affordable around. They are no nonsense. If it isn't necessary, they aren't going to bring it up & charge you for it like other vet offices. Most of the communication in the patient exam rooms is between the pet owner and the veterinarian, not the vet techs/assistants. I appreciate this because there's been times when other vets didn't spend much time listening to my concerns. This newish facility is very nice & mostly clean. There is one entrance for checkins. A separate door for exiting which makes things a little easier for large, anxious dogs. They have three veterinarians on hand... When I had to make a tough decision pertaining to my feline last winter, Dr. Hada was there every step of the way. This was a difficult time for me & he made sure I understood everything in addition to making me aware of the appropriate costs included. The entire office was very empathetic to my situation. Dr. Mohr administered vaccinations on my brother's pitbull today (5/9/2023). He was friendly & straightforward. Dr. Nave Culbertson has also helped me understand what was going on with a couple of my furry friends. She's very kind. I will definitely be back. I recommend all of my loved ones to go here! I called them as soon as they opened and asked for the c-section again because after 40 minutes my bitch had no progress. They told me they could check her out around 11:30 i brought her in and they put her under emedietly. After they went to lunch at 12:00 they called me at 1 pm to tell me puppy was dead. These people charged me $1300.00 to kill my very much awaited puppy. Rather then do a c-section when I asked and the puppy was alive. Im devised because they spayed this girl when they opened her up. She was the last of a bloodline I very much wanted as she was a gift from her breeder who retired.
