At 5:30pm on a weekday (yes- week day!), place was nearly full! We were sooooo lucky to have had a mini table for 4 available. Mama Boss was super friendly and nice - even with my broken French and subpar comprehension of the language- can still feel the compassion, gregarious welcome and love! No wonder customers cannot wait to show up as soon as it opens!
The place was tight yet no one cares about that. It was so tight- whenever the main door opens up, it hits our table. Even with that, it was totally a non-issue. Here is why -
being able to score a table without a reservation was like hitting the jackpot. The online reviews were flooded with constant details of the importance of making reservations in advance. Because almost every 3 minutes- the door swings open; and one by one, each time a party is rejected - we know we took the last avail table. The door was constantly opening and each time it did- we felt the reprieve and validation of scoring the final table! That is why we totally did not mind our table being hit by the swinging door each time! It was like the banging sound of victory, reminding us of triumph!
Meanwhile, the wait staff all spoke decent English and were super friendly. They provided exceptional feedback and recommendations with the menu. No wonder this place exuded such attraction! Waiters were cute and really knew how to work their customers - of ALL backgrounds. They actually made a lasting indelible impression for that we neeeed to come back here on our next visit.
Food was another plus! Flavors were spot on.
Their most famous feature would probably be that long melty cheese, photos on google are available. We ordered escargot, chicken, beef bourgninon, and steak.
Overall, everything was a well deserved 5 stars but the last impression part-- 100 stars!
