They do a mix of parties, theatre, exhibits, take part in festivals - all that at reasonable prices, you pay a 2€ membership fee per year because it's an association plus either pay what you like (often for parties) or a set ticket price for plays etc. The venue itself is worth going for, a former public wash and bath house, still complete with vats for washing clothes and an industrial feel. The monthly Arm Aber Sexy party is great (first Saturday of the month), the people are a queer-hetero-hipster-alterno mix, which makes for a great atmosphere, the music is often good, ranging from electro to disco-ish. Absolutely recommended if you're looking for a queer-friendly party with a laid-back, dancy DYI feel (the drink selection is small but cheep and the speakers sometimes die at the end of the night) and you don't mind an early night (they close at midnight because of the residential area).

Disclaimer: It's been 7 years since I've been to Lyon. So plenty may have changed in that time…read more I visited the Lyon Opera twice. Once for the tour of the opera house and once for the performance of Falstaff. The tour was excellent. I attended the one given in English, to the dismay of my professor. The tour takes you throughout the opera house, explaining the history of the building, the unique architecture, and the companies that use it. The building is an interesting blend of classic and modern. The performance space is actually suspended from the ceiling for optimal acoustics, since connecting to the foundation would have left is susceptible to the vibrations from the metro that goes almost directly underneath. One of the highlights of the tour is seeing the ballet practice studio at the top, with it's amazing light and views of the city. I would check the website for time and cost. I believe it was free or there was only a minimal fee (we were college students, after all, so it's not like we could spend a lot). The performance of Falstaff (by Verdi) was great. They do have supertitIes (in French, obviously), so that you can follow along. I particularly like that OdL had full versions of the libretto printed with the Italian on one side and the French on the other for 5€, since I'm nerdy enough to want to follow along. The little orange light that is on the back of each seat (and in front of each seat) shed just enough for me to glance at the copy during the performance, comparing the Italian and French. Then again, I prefer French and Italian operas to German operas, and I might not have been so intrigued had it been a German opera. Tickets were reasonably priced for decent seat (again, we were college students). During intermission, the refreshments for sale are in one of the older portions of the building that overlooks the Place des Terreaux. Great views, and of course, much better wines than what we're used to drinking and our performing arts centers in Atlanta. #Yelp365 - 182/365

OK Venue, terrible service. The casino itself is OK- nothing special A heavy emphasis on slot…read moremachines rather than table games. I have nothing but praise for the bar and restaurant staff who were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately the croupiers and casino staff were appalling. Croupiers are sloppy with chips and you have to watch them like a hawk. They are also extremely rude- constantly chatting and laughing with the pit boss- quite obviously at the players expense. Very unprofessional. After a particularly rude comment form a croupier, i decided to leave. I told the pit boos why. The pit boss followed me out and repeatedly insisted on a conversation about the issue- even calling the croupier over. I repeated told the staff that i was happy to give feedback but not in public- something that was ignored completely. The manager was eventually involved- and to his credit he heard me out in a relatively quiet corner. Regardless- he left me with little confidence they will resolve any of the issues i highlighted to him. In summary- if you are looking for a soul-less, terrible experience- this is the place for you. If you value customer service and a pleasant night out- try somewhere else. If you find yourself in here and have any kind of problem....don't count on the arrogant, unfriendly and unprofessional staff doing anything about it. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.
