There are plenty of cafes and boutiques within easy walking distance. The walk from the train station isn't too bad, as long as you're able to haul your luggage up some steep steps as you enter the town.
The manager is a lovely woman, who went out of her way to help me recover a suitcase that my airline had lost. Two small points to keep in mind: There is free wifi, but the maximum usage is quite low, which I found very frustrating. Also, the front desk is closed from 1pm to 3pm, which means you can't check in during those hours. Somehow, I didn't realize this ahead of time and ended up wandering the streets for two hours with all my luggage. As long as you plan ahead, it shouldn't be much of a problem.
Overall, a lovely, traditional hotel at a very reasonable price.
