A resounding YES!…read more Came here on a Friday night with a friend to help them experience the world of jazz. A local trio including the owner of the venue stepped up to the stage and from the first chord progression the group clicked and went away with a groove that is second to very few. A Chicago native, I love jazz and local bands are notoriously novice, however this trio was one of the best groups I have ever seen. As many local artists take part at this venue, they similarly play to have fun, and spread the enjoyment as they play for an audience. The venue is very cozy, welcoming and accommodating. A great ambient light, amazing acoustics (It's a cave, yet it is padded) and the drinks were cheap. There was a 10-Euro cover, which may seem steep for local bands, but it was WELL worth the price. Wine selection was a bit small, but local and also very good. This is one of the best venues I have been to outside of the United States, and it's lack of generational history is made up with amazing artists. I will be back, and often. A must-see if in Lyon.

I came from Zagreb for the Beaujolais Nouveau on the third Thursday in November with a group of…read moreRotary friends, but this visit to Lyon will be remembered for this Friday and the visit to "La Clef de Voute". The space is a cave under the building, romantically decorated and acoustic. The wine is good and moderately priced. The space is similar to the Hot Club de Lyon which I visited two nights before, but the difference in the band is huge. This Jazz band is incredible. One of the best I have ever heard. And I am coming after visiting New Orleans and the clubs on "Franchman Street" and Bourbon Street". Not a recommendation. This is simply not to be missed by any jazz fan in Europe. Like "Papa Joe's jazz local" in Cologne.

WOW WOW WOW Never been in a Chateau before but this place…read morewas so gorgeous!! We came for a destination wedding for our friends Marissa & Chris, they had booked the whole Chateau for the weekend for all their family and friends. What I seen of most rooms they all are beautiful and our suite was wonderful, cozy and loved the walk in shower. The grounds around the Chateau are just as lovely, for a nice walk, or you can relax in 1 their 2 pools (inside & out) plus had a spa, I didn't do the spa cause I hate sweating lol But I know few did do it and loved it. The owners are just lovely people and speak several languages so communication was easy. One the coolest things of the Chateau was some the oldest part of it had markings of the Knights Templar, I love history and that was highlight of exploring the grounds. We stayed in the newest part which really isn't all that new since it was built in 1840, but it dates back to the 1500's If you ever get a chance to visit do it, it is worth the trip.

We arrived a little late for our reservation at 7.30, I had thought I had booked 8pm but apparently…read moremy res was at 7.15pm. My mistake, I apologized. We were abruptly told by a little rude waiter that we were late, he made such a fuss I thought he was going to say he couldn't seat us but then he gave us a table in the corner outside! The table was uncomfortably small (we are not big people) it was cramped! We ordered some drinks and apps and within about 20 mins I had water dripping down my back and on my arms which I thought was raindrops! I realized that actually it was water leaking from the apartment drains above. The water was also hitting the table and going in our food! We asked to be moved indoor where there were tables but we were promptly told to shift to the table next to ours outside. We did so but realized more water coming down on the food! When I complained and said it's unacceptable, the waiter asked do we want a table inside? Lol, so now you have space but before you didn't! The waiter just shrugged and said it's normal when you have apartments above! Absolutely disgusting attitude and rude treatment of paying customers! We left without finishing our contaminated food! We paid for it but there was no compensation or apology! Don't bother going here, most other restaurants we went to we received excellent service and pleasant people!
