Serving meals all day every day, The Celtic is an ideal place to pop into for a beer, snack or for an evening meal. With seating both outside and upstairs, it's good for group entertaining. Beers and wines are plentiful (Leffe, Hoegarden, Duval and local types sitting comfortably alongside better knowns such as Stella and Guiness!) but suprisingly, The Celtic serves a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails, presented in a strangely tropical and extravagant way that even Del Boy would be proud of! Delicious, and well worth trying, especially the one featuring Papaya and Bacardi. Food wise, the ommellettes are filling (mushroom and fromage a favourite) and the pizzas thin, crispy and delicious. Good old Fish and Chips also makes an appreciated appearance. Recommended pub!

Nice selection of appetizers and desserts, including ice cream, too. Of course, wine..You can choose from a limited number of selections by the glass or carafe but if you want more options, it seems you to the next room where the retail wine sales take place, choose your bottle and for an extra 8E they will allow you to enjoy it during your meal. Service was rushed at lunchtime on a summer weekday, when Fontevraud is overrun by bikers and Abbaye visitors dominating the small local restaurants. English was spoken but French very helpful if you want additional details before you order. Nice, they put out good and simple classics but try going during off-hours and off-season.
