If you're driving through Lake Elsinore and blinking, you might miss this absolute gem, but Le Rendez-Vous Cafe is worth the U-turn. It's rare to find a spot that feels this authentic without being pretentious, but they've nailed the "French countryside" atmosphere right in the Inland Empire. The Food The menu is a love letter to crepes. I opted for a savory galette, and the buckwheat flour was perfectly thin with those crisp, lacy edges you usually only find in Brittany. The Savory: The ingredients were fresh--no soggy veggies or cheap cheese here. The Sweet: I couldn't leave without trying a sweet crepe. The presentation was beautiful, and it wasn't cloyingly sugary; it was balanced and sophisticated. The Coffee: Their espresso game is strong. It's the kind of place where you actually want to sit and linger over your latte rather than taking it to-go. The Atmosphere & Service The decor is charming and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a quiet breakfast or a cute brunch date. The staff is consistently welcoming--you can tell they take pride in what they're serving. It's a refreshing break from the usual fast-food chains lining the main roads. The Verdict Le Rendez-Vous is a reminder that good things come in small packages. Whether you're a local or just passing through on the way to the lake, do yourself a favor and stop in. It's easily one of the best breakfast/lunch spots in the area. Pro Tip: Try to get there a little earlier on weekends, as it's a small space and fills up fast!

Chicken crepe Think chicken pot pie gravy but sweetened by the champagne. Customer service here is Great! Cute little restaurant. Breakfast potatoes were good too. Coffee is okay. But great service.

Oh, wow! What a great restaurant and a great experience! Rendez- Vous opened just over a year ago and I had it BM'd, after seeing it pop-up in several reviews. It absolutely did not disappoint us. We came on a Saturday and they were busy, but not crowded. The three of us sat in their large dining room, opposite the bar as you come in. Water glasses were filled and menus provided. All very professional and friendly. Nice. We started with some appetizers and I just had to try their Escargot. It had the right amount of butter and garlic and it was perfect. Our daughter ordered the French Onion soup and she too, found her's amazing. For our entrées, we went with the Chicken Marsala, Champagne Chicken and Shrimp. All were delicious. We then ended our evening with their Molten Lava Chocolate Cake. Five Stars. Expect to pay around thirty-five dollars each plus extra for libations

Always heard good things about this restaurant and finally got a chance to try it. The food was good. My husband ordered the trio meat omelette and everything was well made. I ordered the meatloaf bordelaise and it was very good. Everything about the meatloaf was good and the mushroom gravy was the best according to my hubby. The banana fosters were yummy and not too sweet. And that was the icing to the cake that sealed the deal for the day. The server was nice and ambiance was nice. Definitely will come back to try the other dishes maybe come for dinner or weekend meals.

I love this little spot. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the mimosa flight which saves you if you're going to drink. The sunset was sweet and tangy. We ordered the Cajun omelette, split it with an order of the stuffed french toast as well. Both came out hot and tasted fantastic. Not too greasy or salty or overly sweet. I would stop by again for good breakfast or brunch!

We been to all three of their locations: San Bernardino, Colton and now Lake Elsinore. We always have a great time and Russell really is a treat. It's always so great to meet someone who takes such pride in their work. Although we love their regular menu, holidays and special events menu are such a fun experience! Their location is right off the freeway and in the downtown where you can take a walk before or after eating. Parking is free but the ones in front are usually taken so I recommend parking in the back. My favorite is the chicken crepes but the pot pie is great too!

Ok, I am stunned. I was invited to a French restaurant in Lake Elsinore so read the reviews, all positive. One mentioned 'meatloaf',... wait,... at a French restaurant?? The wine was WAY better than expected the meatloaf was very good. The chicken Marsala and champagne chicken were good, I tasted the sweet chili salmon and I think I'll get that next time. Shocking isn't it, no disrespect for Lake Elsinore, but a decent, inexpensive French restaurant, what a pleasant surprise.

Pineapple Brûlée Pancakes

My niece recently moved out to Lake Elsinore, so I went to visit her and have lunch. She chose Le Rendez-Vous, she had never been. We didn't realize the weekends were brunch only, she had seen some items on the lunch menu that she wanted to try, but they weren't serving them. We did ask if they would, the waiter said no. There was another couple that came in after us, they asked if they could have the normal menu, were told no, and they got up and left. Ambiance is blah, and the chairs were uncomfortable. It was dark in there, it almost felt like the lights weren't on and the only light was coming from the window in front. Waiter was nice, as was some other guy who checked on us a sporadically. My iced tea was refilled a few times. The menu didn't scream French to either of us, aside from crepes, which neither of us wanted. She got their Pineapple Brûlée Pancakes, it was just normal buttermilk pancakes with one piece of pineapple on top. I tried the cakes, they were kind of dry and not very sweet. The menu said it has a sweet vanilla sauce on it, neither of us picked up on that. She said the pineapple was caramelized and she liked that, but overall, she wasn't impressed. I had Ham Benedict, which is normal eggs benedict, but also has spinach. The house potatoes on the side were pretty good. Their hollandaise was one of the worst I have had, the flavor was just off, and there was barely any of it. I love a lot of sauce so I can mix it with the potatoes, but I was unable to do that. The ham was thick, but lacked flavor and I got one bite that was super tough and hard to chew. The entire dish lacked seasoning. It got the job done though, I was starving when we arrived and wasn't hungry when we left. Brunch was $50 for our two entrees, a lemonade, and an iced tea. Niece said she might come back to try the lunch items she was craving. I don't think I would come back though.

Tuesday lunch date with my guy. Out Freaking Standing! I almost hate to rave about this sweet little cafe. It's gonna get busy here when wird gets out. Le Rendezvous Cafe is located in the heart of Lake Elsinore's Historic Main Street District. Cute little mom n pop shops are lined up in this area. There has been ALot of improvements to this area. Gentrification I guess you could call it...but it looks and feels nostalgic and good over here. Service just enough, not intrusive. French onion soup, delectable. Shrimp po' boy the freshest & crunchiest breaded shrimp, perfectly balanced slaw and the "bun" was fluffy and firm all at once. Bacon blue cheese burger excellent and so big! Raspberry tea was choice as this was a celebration lunch not dinner..lol. Bar is inviting. Decor was simple and reminiscent of a Parisian Cafe. Happy Anniversary to us and we found our new favorite spot for a luxury meal at a reasonable price of exceptional quality. Thank you.

First time at this restaurant and we arrived about 4 in the afternoon. Although we were way ahead of the dinner crowd the place had a few people there. I ordered the Lagunitas IPA, French Onion Soup and the Meatloaf. OMG! Fantastic meal! The soup was exceptional and the meatloaf had mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. All were warm and delicious. The soup was hot and delicious! Liz was our server and she was excellent. The place was very clean and welcoming. As we were leaving the owner said "Thanks for coming" and that will bring us back! Great hospitality. A must try.

Came for valentine dinner. As always... amazing food, service and atmosphere. If you've never tried this place you're missing out. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Inland Empire.

Wonderful! Everything has so much flavor and the ingredients just taste better quality than most restaurants. I got the pole (fish) and I loved it came with two great size filets mashed potato's seasoned perfectly and veggies. I loved the carrot haha. My mother got the Cajun chicken pasta & added on chicken that was great it came with little pieces of veggies zucchini carrots and maybe some other items. Garlic bread was even great haha I loved the way they cut the loaf makes the dish just look even that more unique. Great place. I'll be going back this week to try something else

Very kind service. Food was good. Nice little spot. Would like to come back. There was a lot of personal conversations being had by staff very close to us. I don't mind but when I was in the service industry that was a big no no for us.

Russ, fine server and host.

Like true Parisian style, you'll need to make a reservation because seating is limited and this spot is quite popular. My boyfriend and I were very fortunate they had a table available when we visited (we didn't know it was reservations-only) but the staff kindly seated us. Next time, I'll definitely call ahead. Right away, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming mother-daughter duo. They patiently walked us through the menu and shared the specials of the day. The chef himself came out to say hello and even took the time to explain a few items we were curious about. Soft French music plays in the background, creating such a calm, inviting atmosphere. *Plain Croissant: A perfect classic. Flaky on the outside, soft on the inside; it's exactly what you'd want from a traditional croissant. I'd come back just for their pastries alone, though this time I was excited to try their savory breakfast items. *Croque Monsieur: Absolutely delicious and wonderfully authentic. I ordered it with ham in the traditional style, and it came with creamy béchamel and melted cheese layered perfectly on top. The portion was generous and satisfying. You can add an egg to turn it into a Croque Madame. This came with a Provençal tomato and a potato pavé on the side, both of which were flavorful and beautifully prepared. The pavé, with its delicate layers, was such a standout. I haven't seen these sides offered at other French restaurants in the U.S., and I'd honestly return just for them. *Machaca Frances: My boyfriend ordered this dish, and it was such a pleasant surprise as a creative, well-executed blend of flavors. The short rib was incredibly tender, paired with potatoes, caramelized onions, and more, all wrapped up in a soft tortilla. The fresh pico, sauce, and avocado on top tied it all together perfectly. When my boyfriend mentioned he was eyeing this dish, the chef smiled and said the machaca filling was similar to beef bourguignon, and he was right! It had that same rich, deep, savory flavor. If they ever have actual beef bourguignon on the menu, I'd order it in a heartbeat based on how good this was. *Side salad: This had fresh greens, carrots, and caramelized onions, with oven-roasted tomatoes, and more, drizzled in a rich balsamic reduction. You could tell a lot of effort went into even the salad, and it tied the dishes together beautifully. This café really reminded me of France, which I miss so much. The space is clean, the atmosphere is warm, and you can tell the staff knows their regulars well. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in. Spots like this are rare for both atmosphere and traditional French cuisine, especially around here, which makes Café La Reve feel even more special. I'm already planning my next visit to try their sweet breakfast options and maybe a lunch entrée. I saw in another review that they also offer dinner on Fridays by reservation, something I'm excited to experience soon. Thank you to the entire team for your kindness and hospitality. Café La Reve is a true gem, and I can't wait to come back.

If you want something more upbeat, inside seating looked like the place to be. Upbeat but relaxed and chill at the same time. We got escargot, a salmon Benedict croissant, and a chicken crepe with mushroom. Escargot is tender, with the garlic butter it goes really well with the baguette. I've had escargot dishes across many fine dining establishments, and the dish here is also top notch. Salmon croissant has a great balance and is simply satisfying to eat. I ordered the Crepe Supreme. Generally, I'm not a big cheese lover but the cheese on this crepe is cooked very nicely and I enjoy it. The portion is pretty big too. I could've just stopped at the first piece, but couldn't help but finishing the whole thing because it is so good. I only have nice things to say about the service here because everyone is warm and friendly. Pacing is great and my coffee gets refilled promptly. It feels chill and relaxing, and no one bothers us with weird timing check-ins when we have food in our mouth. Our total comes out to $70 for 2 people. It's pretty cheap comparing to what we normally have in LA.
