But even more amazing (to me) was the side salad! Roasted, tri-color veggies and marinated eggplant with an assortment of lettuces and arugula - it knocked my socks off! My companions shared the fondue for two and I liked it even better than the tartiflette because the flavor with the wine was even better IMO. It came with incredibly delicious cuts of charcuterie, bread and potatoes. For dessert, we had to go light: lemon and blueberry sorbet. And final comment: as the French are not known to accept the idea of doggy bags, I was impressed when the owner cleaned out a container just to pack up my to-go items (which were still delish the next day!) Great meal in France!…read more This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag. We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment. Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.
