I was in town for an event and was looking for French cuisine, but sadly France has changed so much…read morein the past 20 years that this town has more fast food options than real French restaurants. This restaurant is a chain but offers a few French dishes in addition to burgers and other non-French options, which was why I tried it at lunch today. I wanted to try the pork dish but it was not available, so I chose the Normandy chicken which was good but not outstanding so the food's rating was a 3. The waiter was very courteous and efficient so his service's rating was a 4. I wish I could give the overall rating of 3-1/2.
I miss France that I had visited many times in the 1990's and early 2000's, when I never had problems finding a good French restaurant at a reasonable price with fantastic food in both big cities or small towns back in those days. I am disappointed that Liévin doesn't seem to have a good selection of French restaurants. What has happened to the French cuisine that is renowned in the world? Is it being overtaken by all these junk fast food restaurants? I hope France will not continue its path to lose its identity and its culture with the globalists trying to convert the whole world to look the same and making people eat the same junk fast food!
