I imagine they don't need my review to attract customers due to the location. It's big with a lot of outdoor seating and there is a takeaway bar to one side of this cafe. They serve meals but I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat here. Given the choice of places around here I would go elsewhere.

We discovered this place walking around town and decided to stop in and check it out. The shop is packed with French wine, champagne and a selection of aperitif and dessert wines. The owner was very friendly and spoke ok English. We spoke in a mixture of French and English and it worked a treat. I asked about a particular champagne and the owner popped open a bottle so we could sample. As he said to me "we are in France and why not ?". I loved the champagne and he kept pouring and I tasted some more ;-) Ended up buying a few things here and he gave us a free bottle of one of his favourites to try for later. I really enjoyed my visit here and would happily come here again. The wine bar is also quite popular with the locals but we did not get a chance to try it. Knowing the owner Serge it would not surprise me if the bar is also quite charming and friendly. An awesome wine shop in town.

An amazing meal! Our best so far this trip. All the great reviews of this restaurant are spot on…read more The staff was attentive and welcoming the entire time. Food from start to finish was excellent. We were there almost 2.5 hours and it seemed like time passed very quickly. We chose the 40 euro prix fixe meal. My wife had the escargot which were tender and flavorful in a light cream sauce. My foie gras was like eating flavored butter. So deliciously rich. Our steak au poivre and sweetbreads for entrees were excellently prepared. Wanted to lick our plates. The two desserts we had were a creme brûlée with a wonderful vanilla glacé and a lemon tart on a smear of marshmallow. This put us over the edge. We had a nice Syrah/Grenache bottle of wine to go along with our meal. Yes we had a lot but the total bill was only 118 euros, about 138 US dollars. Couldn't come close to the price, service, or ambiance in the US La Gentilhommiere offers. I highly recommend eating here if you are in Nancy.
