Our first impression was that the ambience and scenery of this hotel were like a Van Gogh painting. This hotel and restaurant was on top of a mountain with a beautiful view of the valley of Les Baux and the Alpilles Mountains. The view of the valley was breathtaking, with olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills everywhere. There is even a view of the chateau from the nearby town from the hotel. We were greeted with great hospitality. The receptionist at the front desk took the time to show us around and asked if we needed anything. We chose the room with the balcony. There was a bar and a newly renovated pool which made for a perfect day of sitting by the pool with a glass of wine. The best part of this hotel was that it was within walking distance of the mountaintop town of Les Baux. This small village was literally right out of a Hobbit movie. The hotel is also easy access by car to St Remy de Provence. The hotel restaurant was amazing. There was an option of eating inside which was in a cave or outside, where most people did overlooking the valley. The chef always walked around each night making sure everything was ok and it felt really great to see the man who was cooking our food. Dinner felt like a real homemade Provencal meal. We were always able to order a bottle of wine from a local vineyard. Another great part about this hotel was that it was close to nearby wineries and olive groves so you can spend some days tasting French wine and olive oil. If you want to experience Southern France in a quaint and charming location with nearby access to one of the most beautiful villages in France, than we definitely recommend this hotel. You will not only receive exceptional service, but also an exceptional experience.

Our rooms were ready and my large group of 39 quickly went and settled in. The lobby is REALLY cool. Each part of the lobby is beautifully decorated in a whimsical fashion. There is a small circular bar in the lobby. Every part of the hotel is cute, recently updated and decorated. The front desk staff were very nice and agreed to let us stay in the pool until 10pm if we promised not to be too loud. I appreciated their flexibility. The pool is really nice and clean, but a little strange as it doesn't have any stairs/steps and only ladders. We enjoyed sitting around the pool after our swim in the comfy poolside furniture. We just wished that the hot tub was functioning. Our rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable. They had cute balconies, good AC, and large bathrooms. I loved that they had free Wi-Fi, you just have to ask the front desk for a code. We also enjoyed our breakfast in the cute breakfast nook. This hotel has a lot going for it! This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in that has a hanging hamster ball seat in the lobby. This is one cool hotel.

Having said that the rooms are quite large and have balconies where you can sit out and enjoy the views of tree lined hillsides at the back of the hotel. This is the quieter side where there really is no noise despite being about 80 yards from a fairly busy road. Access to Nice is an easy 20-25 minutes drive. There s also a pool and ping pong table for your enjoyment. There is a restaurant in the hotel grounds which has a nice outdoor patio. The food is good. Near the entrance to the hotel there is a neighborhood bar which appears a bit rough but the pizza is good. We stayed here for a week and used it as a base to visit Nice, Cannes, Antibes and St Tropez (the furthest away, 2 hours). The hotel was good, beds very comfortable, large bathroom, but the shower is inside a tub which I find less easy to use. They supplied clean towels daily. Included breakfast was really substantial with a choice of eggs, cereals, breads, and really fresh pastries baked daily. Various juices, mineral water and milk all provided. Yes it is a little distance to Nice but far better value than you will find there. We stayed a couple of nights in Nice and it cost double and was noisy. The staff are very friendly and speak reasonable English.
