I decided to start using this gym again because of the convenience and because of the amount of equipment they have. Plus it's so clean and the bath/locker rooms are very nice. I was using Planet Fitness and they were fine, but it's SO loud in there and I feel claustrophobic. The Y is brighter, roomier, I feel cleaner, and it only takes me 5min to get to the Y vs. 15ish to PF. (I live in SSC.) Staff is nice, they always greet me and thank me when I walk out. I rarely use the pool area, but here's a steam room and a sauna. There's classes you can join as well. (I used to do them once upon a time ago. They were great. I assume they still are.) It's a tad pricy, (I pay $50 a month) but you get so much more than just equipment. I'm happy I joined back up.

Then this young boy ( blonde hair) caught my attention at about 5 feet away from me. I was in the pool and he was staring down at me through his sunglasses. Stared at me with so much contempt that would have made any Nazi officer proud. Silly me asked if there was a problem. A stare... then he said " you're not supposed to be there'. I asked why? That cold angry stare followed again.... Finally, he spoke ...." Are you in a swimming class?" I said , no, but if this area is for a class then I'm sorry I didn't know. I told my son to swim away and go somewhere else. Mr. Nazi Officer ( I learned later from one of the more friendly lifeguards that his name was Brian, Bryan, Briant, Ryan, I couldn't make out much because of the noise around me) walked slowly to his post feeling like the Boss. He thought he did a great job. Lol. Bottom line, if you want to have fun, keep your eyes opens for signs, etc... and stay away from life guards unless your drowning!!!

Just to give full history: We enrolled our two sons. First Semi-Private Lesson (Trial): One of two lessons that had no issues. Second Semi-Private Lesson: We enrolled on the app. We had the confirmation email. We arrived on time. They didn't have us on the schedule for the day. They spent five minutes trying to figure it out. Our kids spent 20 minutes in the water. Third Semi-Private Lesson: There was a "Code Brown" so we needed to make up the class. Not there fault. Fourth Semi-Private Lesson: The second lesson that had no issues. Fifth Semi-Private Lesson (Make-Up): We scheduled on the app for the 9:15am-9:45am class on a Saturday. We received an email that this was our time to go in. We arrived at this time and sent our kids in. There was 5 minutes of confusion in the pool area where Our kids went from one teacher to another and then they were sent out at 9:30am. Apparently although we had confirmation that the class was at 9:15am, their system said 9am in some locations and 9:15am in others. Confused we tried to talk to the older receptionist/admin on duty. She was adamant that we were in the wrong and that we were being rude although she was raising her voice to us. I then showed her the confirmation email which resulted in her changing her tone. In all this confusion, they "graciously" let our kids go back in the pool for another 10 minutes. After which I asked for a printout of their remaining classes and to have them dropped from the program after with the younger receptionist/admin. She did explain that it was a fairly new system and that she could see the discrepancy. What left a real soar spot for me about this whole experience was that nobody apologized for this situation. I was obviously upset about what was happening. Not necessarily at them but about the situation and how they didn't seem to care to help resolve it. They cared more about explaining why it wasn't there fault and making us out to be the bad guys then trying to rectify the issues their system caused. A little customer service to address a poor situation goes along way.

They also have classes but didn't get to one.
