Great winstub with a speciality of "tartes flambees" (thin crusted sort of pizzas with a topping of…read moreonions, bacon and creme fraiche - someone is gonna kill me for comparing it to pizza). It's where the locals go and I have been going there for ages whenever on vacations in Alsace. It's only open for dinner: go early if you do not want to wait for too long. Once seated (I prefer the room immediately on your right) go for a local Meteor draught beer and a standard "tarte flambee". Then order from the speciality salads, beer roasted pork, or other delicious local specialities. Their wine list isn't fantastic but you will still find some interesting Alsace options to pair with the food. Prices are very reasonable.

When he got tired of making them at home, they searched and searched for the most authentic tasting tarte flambee and found L'Aigle in Pfulgriesheim. Once you start ordering them, they just keep coming, very thin crust, fresh white cheese, onions and bacon. The desserts are fantastic too. The restaurant prefers to do a few things extremely well than to to try to have "something for everyone." The result is truly memorable. In the summer, try to get there right at 18h so you can sit outside.
