Some people just aren't cut out for doing business. This place had the right look, and is one of the few places in Reims found on LeFooding.
Wines by the glass are "blind", so you pick a color and get a wine. My companion and I each chose red, and were served a very small glass of wine. We were later told it was a Czech wine, but weren't able to actually look at the bottle, which kind of defeats the purpose of, I don't know, trying to find a wine or grape another time?
Service is achingly slow, and awkward. Multiple people coming to drop off silverware, but I had to find my own menu.
We wanted a simple apero, and ordered a cheese plate, which is described as having 5 cheeses. The smallest cheese plate I've ever seen - 17 euros - and served on a bread plate. I've seen pats of butter on toast bigger than these cheeses. It took almost 30 minutes for the cheese matchsticks to arrive.
Since this made us very cranky we kept a close eye on the rest of the tables. Our neighbors ordered the same cheese plate, with what looked like a lot more cheese, but still ridiculously small.
Not clear if this is a bobo place for tourists, and thus, they get you once and you won't ever come back. But either way, we won't be back.
To quote my companion: "Reims c'est une cauchemar des années 90."
