Much of the fun for me when traveling is struggling through foreign languages with the locals, and my cheese-purchasing experience was another delightful exercise in such. The wonderful lady who runs the place doesn't speak much English, but she was oh so patient with my butchering of her native tongue (protip: the word for 'one', "un" is pronounced closer to "ah-oon" than "oon" the way our English-wired brains see it). Through a series of pointing, gesticulations, and smiling nods, we purchase a block of brie and some goat cheese, both of which were incredible. French cheese is truly next level. read more
