I usually try and take charge when it comes to picking dinner places when with a group of…read morenon-foodies, but I was invited to a gathering last minute taking place at this restaurant. Given the touristy location, and kitsch interior, I was skeptical about the food. I only ordered two small appetizers--the first being an avocado salad which was fine, and some empanadas which weren't great.
The other people at the table seemed to be quite happy, but I tasted my friend's steak and fries, and was not impressed. The meat was fine, but not the quality one expects with argentinean steak. The fries were disgusting. Out of a frozen bag, they weren't even fried, but baked in the oven which they some how managed to mess up. The tips weret burnt, and the middles not cooked. How hard is it to not screw up fries ??
The service was fine, and the prices too. But honestly, I'd rather pay a couple euros more and have a good meal. I won't be going back here.
