I visited Point Rouge tonight with three friends: two of us were British and two were American. The food and wine were both delicious, beautiful, and beyond reproach. However, the service failed to meet the standards the kitchen had established. Although the restaurant was far from full on a Monday night, we consistently waited much longer than every other table for every course, every glass of water, and every drop of wine. Determined to enjoy ourselves anyway, we watched several tables order crêpes Suzette, which were prepared tableside with great pageantry (several diners videoed the preduction), so we ordered them, too. But we were the only table who had our crêpes delivered cold without the tableside drama. I took one frosty bite and retired my fork, and when the waiter asked if there was something wrong with my crêpes, I told him I was disappointed not to have had them prepared tableside. He laughed and took my plate away. We were all charged full price anyway, and I might just mention here that the bill for four of us totaled €288. I am very sorry not to be able to recommend a restaurant with such wonderful food, but of course inferior service can destroy any meal. I cannot prove that the service we received was related that we weren't French, but by the time we left, it certainly felt that way. I might also mention that the toilets are quite...unusual. The doors are clear glass until you enter and lock the door, when they become opaque. However, there is no sign or other indicator that this will happen, so it looks for all the world as though you will be using the toilet in full view of everyone who walks by. I found this to be a very odd, almost cruel, décor decision.

A live band played as part of a regular rotation of genres in the large ecclectic food court. It was huge with open communal high tables indoors as well as low tables outdoors in quieter spaces. An abundance of international food options freshly prepared onsite from Indian food, sushi, burgers, tapas, Asian, Italian, beer as well as cocktail bar options. Reasonable prices. There was a dance floor in the evening but it was still considered a family venue and several families had children out and about in between the dancing foray. The jovial atmosphere did make it difficult to hear and to have lengthy conversation inside the food hall, just be forwarned.

The house orchestrated by a father and daughter team. he is front of house and she organises the menu and serves in a delightful way that which she selected to be offered. Not a bargain basement but the quality and presentation is more than rewarding. Exit right on departure and go no further than Hotel Faison, having passed a couple of visually impressive restaurants. Awake at said hotel for a sumptuous and affordable breakfast before simply crossing the tram lines for the airport bus to Merignac or a train to Morcenx for a short drive to Uza and 'Le Cottage'. The price is excellent at 49 euros for three courses. The food was very good but I will say that it looked better than it tasted. We enjoyed it but we weren't convinced that it is the top restaurant in Bordeaux as listed on trip advisor. For the price it was good.
